FOOS

Krazy, like there has been a decent candidate for 30 plus years? Cannot think of one other than Ross Perot who I had anything nice to say about.

FOOS, that is so true! Why we are still somewhat free here in America, just selling our freedoms for trinkets much like the Indians sold that little Island in NY for trinkets. When we do not know history we are bound to repeat it. When the government controls our medical and everything else, we will be slaves to them.

You are a good man, LG.  A good man, indeed.  Respect brother.  PS:  I voted for Perot because (IMO) Bush and Clinton were both terrible.

Little George

Yes they were FOOS! The last so-called honest President was Carter, but we see where that went.

I have said this after every election since the 90's, but it is likely true. " you could probably find 200 homeless people in the streets of Phoenix that could do a better job"

Although I'm not a fan of any recent presidents, I can appreciate the fact that they each brought ONE positive to the table:

Clinton fixes the deficit, Bush Jr brought back a sense of patriotism to the country and Obama easily got us out of a miserable recession.

I hope Foos is right because I'd love to see a unified country. I think it will take a while to recover from the hatred spewed by Trump but we can get there. Hell...he's currently fabricating a story about voters now...and he could still WIN the election. At least wait until you lose, before you become a sore loser and get a large portion of the country angry (again).

Little George

Yes, looking for the positive is good. I guess I ask to much for an elected official to actually work for the people instead of enriching themselves at the cost of the people and ruling over the people. In American elected official do not rule, but serve. Well, at least that is what it is supposed to be..

Until we stray from a bipartisan system, we will always be dictated. This is far from a democracy....which is a completely separate conversation!

Patriotism was brought back by the attacks on 9/11, any President would have managed that.  When you start with no where to go but up, as Obama did with the recession, it's virtually impossible to fail.  I'm not sure Clinton deserves credit for the deficit (I think it was more like the long term effects of Reagan era policies), but he didn't screw it up, so I'll give you that one.

Aokay

Every single German I have met <> all Germans

Nevermind, why do I even bother?

The point I was making, through sarcasm, was that of the more than eighty-million Germans, you held up a tiny sample-size and offered it as proof that Trump is universally hated. Trump has called out Germany for not paying their fair share at the UN, and he has not been at all flattering while discussing their leader, so yeah, the German people as a whole, probably do have a hard on for him. So discounting Germany, I stand with my original statement.

Don't worry, FL...I couldn't give credit to Bush Jr for ONE other accomplishment throughout his term.

Jimmy Carter was pretty good with the deficit, but didn't nearly make the impact that Clinton did.

FWIW, I've NEVER met an internationally-born person that doesn't laugh when Trump's name is mentioned.  100% of them said their friends back home consider the US a joke.  I know that many Americans could care less, however relationships with international forces are vital for our economy and well-being.

You know who doesn't consider Trump a joke -- the leaders of the EU, that he put the screws to financially as he embarrassed them in front of the world. You might add the Communist Leaders in China that are suffering the effects of the current tariffs, and the 31 billion they've lost in trade with us. You can add the leaders in Iran, who are suffering mightily because of the sanctions Trump imposed. Then there's Mexico, and Canada, that miraculously renegotiated trade deals that once greatly favored them, and cost us huge numbers of manufacturing jobs. How about the three Arab nations that are normalizing relations with Israel? Do you think those leaders consider Trump a joke? How about the British leaders that pulled off the exit from the EU? Do you think they consider Trump a joke? What about the Black inmates he's pardoned? Or the Black business people that are benefiting from the federal dollars Trump sent their way? Do you think they're having a good laugh at his expense? I find it interesting that today's progressives no longer believe in the "It's the economy stupid" mantra by Clinton.  I remember Obama saying that the lost manufacturing jobs were gone forever, that bringing them back would take a magic wand, when in reality, all it took was someone that know how to negotiate a deal that favored them (them be us). But I get it, Trump says mean things and hurts people's feelings, so he's got to go.

Severing ties with China hurts us...not them. They have plenty of allies that support their economy. We don't have the infrastructure or the employees that are willing to work at (or below) minimum wage, in order to create the products that are currently imported. Even if we create those jobs, Americans will never want to pay the inflated prices for those products.

Yes, I think the Ball family laughed at his expense after he had them pardoned (joking). And yes, even t he Mexicans chuckle at the threat of forcing them to build our wall...that was a stellar "campaign promise".

Israel is far from being at peace with Palestine. If you heard that the Gaza violence halted, the fake news made it to your home.

I have friends/colleagues here from Sweden, Ethiopia, UK, Russia, Serbia, Germany, Argentina and many other nations. Not one of them slightly respect Trump...and they reiterate that he is known worldwide...not in a positive light.

He may pull a "Putin" and never leave office. It looks like his antics are currently trending in that direction. Even his son is embarrassing himself publicly this week.
