You ask yourself what specific policy or law would have prevented this event? A lot of times what people are proposing, if applied, would not have worked to solve the problem. In fact, it would have just suppressed the freedom of those individuals who follow the law.

Right now, a couple days after the event, we are still getting unclear information of what actually occurred.

But until we have clear information, there is no way you ask yourself what specific policy or law would have prevented this specific event?

I've heard lots of blame thrown around, but not once have I heard any one blame the shooter. I own a few fire arms and never have they left the safe, gone out and hurt any one all on their own, I needed to do something for them to fire...personnal responsibility.

I agree. People need to demonstrate that they are capable of personnel responsibility to own and operate a firearm. Seems like a reasonable requirement.

It's going to come out that the responding uvalde cops failed on every level. Since columbine cops have been told to run towards the shooting if it is at a school, and you run towards it until the shooting stops. Not waiting 55 minutes to get a negotiator or proper gear, or even saving your own dawn kid instead of all of them like you swore to do.

Fixing cops is definitely one portion of the equation that fixes this mess.

They don't need to demonstrate it, it's all just blind good faith. The problem.

True, but invasion of privacy and violation of Constitutional Rights is plain wrong. If more people were carrying that would help. Why are so many shootings in gun free zones?

Look at what happened at a graduation party in W Virginia the last couple days. Guy pulled out an ar-15 and started shooting. Woman pulled her handgun and dropped him on the spot.

Until we as a country begin to hold people accountable in a serious manner,  it won't matter.

We have no fault auto accidents, no fault divorce, excuses for everything, and the violent ones claiming to be the victims. When they are arrested they get off. Rye for an eye. Bring on the death sentence. The sheriff In Florida was right. If some one breaks in, shoot them dead on the spot. Save the tax payers lots of money!

How about we hold people accountable by making sure they aren't crazy and aren't violent criminals?

Who makes those decisions?
After my Marine  Corps days the Air Force wouldn't take me because I was a "trained killer". Is the military a good judge?
How about a court room with a judge? All depends on the judge and the day of the week it is. Maybe half the judges In this country are more corrupt than the people standing before them in court.
Politicians? That would be the shit blaming the fart for the horrible lasting smell in the room.
The FBI? CIA? Doesn't get any more corrupt than those two groups.
Let's face it, we live in a world of stupid and corruption. The answer will never be to disarm law abiding citizens.

Who makes the decisions to arrest and convict people now?
