WOW, seems Jay Johnson didn't talk to his team about leaving for LSU

I have lost all respect for coach Johnson. I get leaving for more money, but you have to talk to every single one of your players about it.

If he only spoke to a few of them, he probably only spoke to the ones he hoped would follow him...including his current recruiting class.

Wow. Players should be the first to know about any job commitments (or lack thereof in JJ's case).

I hope the Arizona players and recruits recognize his process and refuse to follow him to Baton Rouge.

Looks like he talked to our best player before leaving

What's that old saying about being careful who you step on to climb your way up since you might need them on your way down?  Zero class JJ!

Way to burn the bridge.

Surprised that the players are entering the portal. We need to hire somebody quickly so they can bad-mouth the coach that didn't keep his own players in the loop.

Can't blame Coach Jay. He took a much better job with an athletic department that will dump big resources into him. Getting petty over it won't change anything. Just another example of the trajectory this University is on with Heeke and Robbins at the helm.

Do you just copy/paste comments from other threads and replace a basketball coach's name with Johnson?

Somebody with insight needs to explain to these 18-22 year old recruits/players that he abandoned them without providing reasonable notice. These players were recruited to Tucson by JJ and he left them without even saying goodbye (to most).

How is LSU a better job?  They have 2 more national titles but we have the same CWS appearances and Arizona has more postseason berths.

It will take us a couple years to rebuild after Johnson left our program with a bare roster. Regardless, we're better off because we'll likely find a coach that won't miss the postseason 50% of the time. I hope LSU knows that they just went with the "hot name".
