Intersting ,  this could be really good news or really bad news depending which side your on.

This is going to get out of hand.  Recruiting won't matter anymore because you can just pull kids from other programs if/when somebody bails on you.

Loyalty went out of the door and college basketball won't be the same.  Coaches need to establish continuity within their system to win.  Without an established roster, NCAA basketball will start looking like the selfish NBA game (where players just use the team as a platform to showcase their talents in an attempt to earn money).

Wins won't matter to these kids if they don't have a true love for their respective programs.  This just became a "business" in an amateur sport.  If these kids wants to jump from team to team, they should just get paid to play internationally...

You are a bit late to this party. Hardly anyone with talent worth anything in any modality is interested in integrity when they watch Ghouls profiting off of their backs. Especially incoming kids who are going to be getting English 101/102 covered by scholarship which costs a few hundred dollars at most these days. The benefits are not good enough to justify wasting your time if you aren't being marketed for your future. College degrees are no longer automatically the determining factor of success. No one has been interested in playing for free and for the love of the school for decades. Gone may the old days of Lute taking recruits down to Tex Ernhardt's. Technological advance has changed how people can obtain value for their services rendered. Now it's all about how to not leave a paper trail with all of this technology available. All of this 3 to 4 year player sentimental bs needs to stop.

The NBA needs to just wake up and open up the minor league system so the kids that think they can make it in the league can stop using scholarships as a platform for their selfish play.

If somebody wants to make a profit on their name (or provide immediate income for their family), they can get a JOB and immediately become a pro.

Coaches can leave and immediately become eligible at another school because they already completed the amateur portion of the careers (college). College players commit to a school in order to be student athletes, which I agree is now obsolete in the football/basketball world (for a majority of the players).

Hopefully that changes soon so the one and dones stop wasting our time. (Old man rant /end)

You're right. Hopefully it ends and College can be a place to watch actual students play their respective sports while they get real educations. That was supposed to be the point. There really is just too much talent now as population rises and globalization continues.

Not to mention the countless academies that teach kids to focus on sports (and nothing else) from the age of 4...

Athletes are ridiculously talented because they've been pushed into their respective sport for their entire life & they're likely prepared for the professional level at age 18.  they may not be mature enough to enter the real world, but their game is solid.  Can't wait until the OND rule burns off and the College Baseball (or football) rule goes into effect.  I'll enjoy the sport 100x more.
