I sure hope lloyd is right  for me it would start with landing ty ty an kaluma.

That was an encouraging article and a good reminder that CTL is so new to the job still. This time in June I'll predict we have half the open number of scholarships as we currently do...he'll have locked up a couple and we'll all be pretty excited.

I would rather him sit on the open scholarships Arizona has now, then to try to accept commitments just to have bodies.
I have seen it done in desperation, but to me, I am not going to accept a commit from a player that I would have not normally accepted one from if everything was "normal" which is a subjective term.

If the article is accurate, I'm glad that we didn't land Kaluma.  We don't need another 6'8" kid standing along the perimeter and throwing up 3's.

We currently need a backup PF that can stretch opposing D's and play with his back to the basket if necessary.

I assume Lloyd will find a grad transfer or an international prospect to become Tubelis' backup within the next month.

Exactly. The Big L is lucky to be riding what's left of Miller's team this year. He would never have gotten this job if Miller didn't have the vision to bring in a batch of international players at one time. Hope to see Tubelis and Benedict get better. If those 2 specifically regress then I have to think it is a major red flag in the coaching ability.

Judging the progression of two players' abilities over a 10 month span can't define the coaching ability for a new staff that is taking over a young team that needs time adjusting to a new system.

Lloyd inherited a nice roster and I think he'll succeed...but it will take 2-3 years before Arizona is back on top of the PAC-12.

Even if we didn't have foreign players on the roster, he would have taken this job in a heartbeat. Great opportunity for a lifelong assistant coach in a mid major conference (not to diminish Gonzaga's accomplishments during Few's tenure).

I have mixed feelings about the article from scheer I think Arizona  must get a pg. An a pf.

I like kerr but he is unproven in collage at pg. I would like  a
expericed  pg.  Or a really talented one maybe a 5 star caliber one.
At pf  we must get athletic  4  we need a replacement  for azulous.
These are must in my opinon.
Lloyd  can take all the time he needs to find these players , I think this will decide
If we are a NCAA tournament  team or not.

It's not a new coaching staff. Unless Murphy and JET are being used like Miller was last year and will be forced out after next season, then it's 1 new coach with whatever system he thinks he can implement - which may or may not look like Gonzaga's unless The Big L has coaching strategy of his own separate from Few. I do suspect, similar to Football, that these assistants and consultants are being kept around as nostalgic propaganda more than as building blocks (JET, Bruschi for example)

And Never in a million years would Lloyd have been considered for this position nor offered it without all of the international flavor on this roster. It's really no secret why almost every American player bolted. Tube and Benedict having better seasons is going to be the benchmark to go off for me. I don't care if other people want to bend their standards, I'm not.

The Big L missed on Ty Washington and Kaluma because he is not the man they wanted to play for. That's all. Kaluma picking the "Creighton Plantation" over Arizona speaks loud volumes to me. Either this coach can recruit American 5 stars or he isn't the right man for this job. It shouldn't take 2-3 years of 3 and 4 star recruits. It's very cut and dry for me though some members here wished Mid Major Mentality into existence and now will have to live through it.
