WHAT IF _____?!

This is a huge IF. In fact, this IF is borderline asinine to even mention out loud at risk of being laughed right off of this site. But hey, I do like to entertain, and I have zero self-respect, so let's do this.

WHAT IF we end up pulling the shocker of the 2021 recruiting class by landing #1 Chet Holmgren?? I'm sure a number of Gonzaga staff have been involved in his recruitment, but could Tommy Lloyd have been "the guy" that got Holmgren to buy in? He's been unanimously projected to choose Gonzaga for months, but how big of a role did Tommy Lloyd play in the process? I don't have the answer, but it makes me wonder. All it would take is Chet to say "I really believe in this guy's (Lloyd) philosophy and I feel like he would be a great head coach, and I'm willing to follow my gut and make a bold move to play for him."

It's all hypothetical and obviously unlikely, but it's not the craziest scenario I've ever cooked up. What an insane 1st domino that would be for a new coach at a new program.

Lloyd was involved with Chet, but he is staying at Gonzaga. In fact, none of the recruits or starters will follow Lloyd. 1st, he would not do that to Few and 2nd, why would they leave a championship caliber team? Its likely that Ballo and/or the russian kid comes, but they are just not very good.

(1) Staying at Gonzaga? He hasn't even committed yet. (2) Lloyd wouldn't do that to Few? He's not doing anything. He's not reaching out saying Come On Down. If Chet reached out to Arizona unsolicited and said he won't be choosing Gonzaga and he wants to come here, then Lloyd hasn't done anything other than accepting a coaching job. (3) Championship caliber? If Suggs, Kispert, Timme, and Ayayi all leave for the NBA, is Gonzaga really championship caliber anymore?

I'd imagine Lloyd will at least make a call. I previously thought he might stay away from Gonzaga targets and transfers but that's clearly not the case. He can offer Chet the keys to the kingdom.

My Zag buddy says there's a super quick PG from Spain named Pirreli (sp?) that Lloyd was lead recruiter on that is iffy on going to Spokane now available this season and a Chinese big named Zeng for next year.  I dont see TL going outta the way to poach Few's kids but some may want to follow and the PG kid may have multiple reasons to switch to Zona if the Baylor coach from Spain heads to Tucson and our current PGs bail.

There is some people that think that fenbo  zeng has committed  to the zags already  .
He actually  has committed  to them but there is some that   think he will follow  lloyd to Arizona. 

That kid pirelli  looks good wonder if lloyd will bring him still if he lands ty ty
Zeng looks really good needs to add muscle though an weight  I like to have zeng for sure if he asked for a release from Gonzaga.
