QuoteLiquid suffers from a parasite that makes him think Arizona is a blue blood program when we are in fact a Powerhouse program. There is a difference. There are levels to this.

Sure...just note that Lute, over a 20 year period, won more games than any D1 coach and went to as many Final Fours as anyone, except for coach K. Arizona, as a program has the best winning percentage over a 10 year period in the nation. If that is not 'blue blood', then no one was for that same period.

QuoteOne or 2 baskets made (meaning 3 final 4s --- Uconn/Wisco/Wisco) and Liquid would consider Miller an Elite top 6 coach (behind his precious Coach K, Roy Williams, Bill Self, Tom Izzo, Coach Cal).

That is like saying if that if some MLB player hit 100 home runs in one season I would consider him the greatest home run hitter of all time. Yes, of course, I would. So would everyone else on the planet. But a guy who hit 30 in a season is NOT that guy, even if ALL the fans think he is and "If he'd had just 1 or 2 easier pitches in each game..." is not an argument that supports the assertion.

Specific to AZ, its more like 5 or 6 baskets. And the open looks and possibility of making them would have come with coaching adjustments. Kaminsky had one fault, he did not run the floor well. All we had to do was run. But you can't do that when you play the pack line so close to the basket. Loose one game that way...sure. But the second one...well you make an adjustment. Had he done that and still lost, I would consider him a far better coach.

QuoteFlash in the pan Final 4 runs don't count as consistent Liquid.

I have no idea what this means. Az was as consistently in the final four as anyone over a 20 year period. I can't recall the exact number of years but there were something like 16 straight recruiting classes who all participated in at least 1 final four while at AZ. Those were exactly the opposite of 'flash in the pan'.

Also, ANY Final Four is an achievement, THE achievement in college hoops.

I respectful disagree. A National Championship is the only prize. Final Fours are consolation prizes where players get free Xboxes. Great publicity, but not much of a step up from conference championship(s).

Blue blood (by definition) is old enough to be passed from generation to generation. 20 years is not large enough of a sample size to move beyond Elite status.

Also, I'm pretty sure Miller is Top-5 in wins since arriving in Tucson. Similar to Lute, that's the foundation of a program, but not the way to earn blue blood status.

We'll get there one day.

I assume Work Day is labor day if I were trying to decipher the code, college basketball practices usually start late September so the time frame works out. They are likely withholding an announcement on a redshirt because of some bylaws or trip that Bwill could be excluded from, but thats just a guess

Gonzaga is a blue blood by Liquid's definition.

I don't think a single final four is qualifications for being a blue blood...

but Arizona was or no one was.
