Where are we at for scholarships now with this class?  Will somebody have to transfer/declare or are we good?  Hard to keep track. Know Desjardins wont keep his.  We have Thielman's, as well.  Two seniors and.... did we have one open already?

We currently have 12 scholarships tied up for 2018-19 season:

Seniors (2): Coleman/Luther
Juniors (4): DesJardins/Gettings/Jeter/Smith
Sophomores (4): Akot/Barcello/Lee/Randolph
Freshmen (2): Doutrive/Williams

This leaves us at ONE scholarship right now, the one that Thielemans vacated with the transfer.
Three will come off the books after this season (Coleman/DesJardins/Luther), which leaves us withFOUR scholarships.

So to answer your question, we would need at least ONE body to leave via transfer, grad-transfer or NBA to accomodate all five of our 2019 recruiting class and add another body for any other scholarship given that would be coming in 2019.

DesJardins is year to year. That us one.
Smith and Jeter will both Grad and have the option to transfer. Is Smith gets burried later this year(if Williams plays to potential), he would be a candidate.
We can take a wait and see but for now we are covered. If we were to gain a big guy things will work out.

Expect to see two or three players leave the program with eligibility

Jeter isn't going anywhere, Miller knows he is going to need him next season, and that is me talking with my player/coach hat on.
Jeter is the backbone of our defensive unit and with five new bodies expected to be added to next season, Jeter is going to be one of the ones that Miller is going to lean on and expect to play big.

I have said before that I believe Smith is going to be a grad-transfer.
Too many bodies coming in next season and I believe AT LEAST two of them are going to be penciled in front of him, not including Williams and/or Randolph should they both decide to return.

Well that limits our options lol!
I would throw these names out there and dominoes to watch and see how they play out:

Williams (NBA)
Randolph (NBA)
Smith (grad-transfer)
Barcello (transfer)

There is another name I have on my list, but I am afraid to even say it because I REALLY like him and hope he stays, but I could make an argument that he would be another candidate as well.

Hope we can keep Doutrive.  The kid is special and should be playing over Justin "I left my talent in Maui" Coleman.
Well thanks for the breakdown, that clears things up.  So, we are all good with scholarships.  Now we just gotta get through this year with our pride intact ahaha.
And yea, I dont see why Jeter would transfer.  And he certainly wouldn't draw interest from the NBA, yet, unless he has a secret jumpshot we don't know about.  He will be surrounded by talent next year.  Probably no better situation he could join anywhere else.

Jeter isn't thinking about transferring. He's considering starting his pro career early.

Anyone that doesn't believe Jeter is going anywhere hasn't listened to the words coming out of his own mouth. To think you know what he's gonna do better then he knows is just plain dumb. No offense.

Unfortunate that is what he is thinking.  Would be a huge mistake but I guess he wouldn't be the first.
