1. Arizona Wildcats

Notable departures: Kadeem Allen, Chance Comanche, Lauri Markkanen, Kobi Simmons
Notable returnees: Rawle Alkins, Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Keanu Pinder, Dusan Ristic, Allonzo Trier
Notable newcomers: Emmanuel Akot, DeAndre Ayton, Alex Barcello, Ira Lee, Brandon Randolph, Dylan Smith

The Arizona Wildcats may have lost one-and-dones Lauri Markkanen and Kobi Simmons as well as sophomore Chance Comanche to the professional ranks as well as Kadeem Allen to expiring eligibility, but they've reloaded in a big way. Head coach Sean Miller has roped in the third best recruiting class in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. It is highlighted by 5-star prospect DeAndre Ayton, the prototype for a modern big man. Ayton is a 7-footer who is very comfortable stepping out beyond the arc, but he can also turn away shots on the defensive end. The late reclassification by 6-foot-7 wing Emmanuel Akot, another 5-star prospect was a huge boon for an already loaded roster. Ayton and Akot are joined in the class by three other 4-star recruits.

Arizona also returns plenty of talent. Allonzo Trier averaged 21.6 points and 3.3 assists per 40 minutes as a sophomore as he showed an improved ability to help facilitate the offense. Rawle Alkins is also back. He opted to return to school after testing the NBA Draft waters. Alkins is a big 6-foot-6 wing who doesn't necessarily excel at any one thing, but is pretty good at all of them.

Miller is still chasing that elusive Final Four. He'll certainly have a roster capable of helping him earn his first trip this season.

Chatsports also has is at #1.

1) Arizona Wildcats
When Rawle Alkins withdrew from the NBA Draft and five-star commit Emmanuel Akot reclassified to the 2017 class, the Wildcats shot up to No. 1. Lauri Markkanen, Kadeem Allen and Kobe Simmons are gone, but everyone else is returning from last year's 32-win team, including star guard and Pac-12 Player of the Year favorite Allonzo Trier. They also add the nation's top recruit in DeAndre Ayton in a top-three recruiting class (the fact that he's the final aspect mentioned about this team tell you how good they're going to be).
