All I can say is Koa hung in there and off a really poorly ran set, with 3 seconds left, that dumb Timeout turned out to be an inbound to Koa for the Rise Up "Dart" right into the basket. So I don't know how that isn't "impactful".

I would say that Aristode is very unsung. Tommy has this habit of benching his better players now for what is working.

That is serious evolution.

He never did that when we had Caleb Love, Boswell, Kerr around chucking.

He even had Bradley on the bench for a stretch, down the stretch when we were playing well and not collapsing. It may have been a bad move because if he just would have rode Bradley for 2 or 3 more minutes when he benched him, it may have been enough to truly Daggermouth BYU out of it.

But I am impressed by Tommy keeping Krivas out of the game. Somehow he felt like Mo was not able to JAM it home on Keita. I don't really know... maybe he didn't want our Guards to try to keep resorting to Moonball Lobbing that wasn't working.

Refs refused to put Krivas on that FT Line. He should have had at least 10 attempts the way BYU was hacking him.

I think Aristode did a good job on Dysbanta. Once they all stopped getting scared and pre-emptively fouling, they forced AJ to be "Himothy" and he was...but he missed plenty of shots too.

The score still irks me. But us REAL fans know that we won that game outright.

It would have been pretty infuriating with a lot of bad attitudes had we lost. Especially with Bradley having his hand on that ball as the BYU PG was sliding to the rim (traveling)... which is a Jump Ball: Possession Arrow Arizona... but thankfully Burries stayed locked in and blocked that shot + no Padilla dumb Whistle this year.

Interesting that Burries is not tops on this list.
It would make sense since he was in the game when BYU went on that run to end the game.

Aristode was in when Arizona went on that run when they basically shut down Dybantsa between him and Kharchenkov guarding him.
Aristode has developed slower than the other freshmen (which is NOT a bad thing).
I am interested in seeing what his role/development would be next season with so many roles being up for grabs.
I really like him and his game and think he could be an All-Big 12 selection next season along with Kharchenkov who I believe will be Big 12 All-Defensive Team this season.

Yes, Koa played his ass off.  The refs didn't give him (or our bigs) any love...and he was mature enough to walk away from every play, while cheering on his team.  He's unlike any other freshman in college basketball.

I'd selfishly love to see him return but his athleticism should make him a fringe Lottery Pick, especially if he makes a big impact in March.
