I would put Houston #1 and Arizona #2 after this week personally. Purdue is getting too much credit, but we will see what happens when we play Auburn and Alabama. Houston just played Auburn. Purdue played Alabama. There is going to be a lot of good qualitative data although we played UConn a little bit Light today apparently they were missing a 5* and another role player to injury so UConn may be better than they are leading on currently. Duke has skated by so far. Michigan State looks good to me.

As much as I want to agree, Purdue is pretty damn good. Hopefully, they lose a couple OOC games.

#3
The voters don't have much of a choice but to move Arizona up to #1 next Monday. Purdue and Houston aren't playing anybody notable this week and neither one of them have a résumé even close to ours.

Arizona is the first team to defeat at least 2 teams ranked in the Top 3 within the first 5 games of the Season since 1989 (Kansas), and it has only happened 3 times in NCAA History.

If they want to gatekeep us out of #1, fine. Doesn't really matter, but the fact remains.

#stat.

Like I said, Houston impresses me with Chris Cenac Jr raining 3's at 6'11" 240.

There are a ton of "like-opponents" to measure up to. This is part of my Momentum Theory. Will we be able to sustain this with the 1 Week Off stuff coming up vs Auburn, Alabama?

Time will tell.

Either way, I will always take a learning lesson with a Win. UConn without Reed was a big blow to them. I expected the Betting line around UConn -8 in an extreme sense and -4 if being reasonable. I believe it was really only ever -4.5 (with Reed considered "in" at opening).

So it is possible that the same outcome would have happened, but maybe not the Rebounding and maybe not UConn's foul trouble early. So who knows if we garner the respect of #1. Reed is a 20ppg 9reb per game Senior Center at 6'11" 250 I believe and we only have 1 7 Footer so Krivas would have had a tough time fighting off both Reed and the Euro Ogre. Awaka maybe fouls out early. All theoretical.

UConn is not the best I've seen this year, but they do have a fighting spirit.

KansasCityCats

If Cenac is raining threes (4 f94 11 this season), then Delly is Stephen Curry.

FOOS

I'd say we move to #3 unless Houston and Purdue lose

We could be ranked 2 or 3, but we should be should ranked #1 come Monday.

Current #1 Purdue has only beaten one top 25 team in #11 Alabama and #2 Houston has one good win against #22 Auburn. Oddly enough, we will be playing both Auburn & Alabama soon.

One can argue that we beat Ucconn minus one of their best players in Reed, but they still had another 7 footer in his place and injuries happen. Think Krivas for us last season.

Either way, we are one of the best teams in the nation and I don't remember ever having this much size and girth. Love this team!!

KansasCityCats

We definitely have the best wins and SHOULD be #1, based on the existing schedule.

Houston snuck by Auburn, who needed OT to beat Bethune Cookman. The Tigers also destroyed Oakland, who gave Purdue a hard time. The Boilers' win over Bama was still solid.

Fingers crossed that we get love from the media on Monday...although it will obviously put a huge target on our backs if we're atop the standings.

It was a foul at the buzzer, but only Tony Padilla is authorized to blow a whistle like that.
