I still believe we are at least a week away from potentially getting back into the rankings. It'll be interesting to see what our vote totals are tomorrow.

That would be nice, but I would be surprised if we were Top 5 in Others Receiving Votes.

KansasCityCats

"The sky is falling" fanbase has cooled off for now because the media recognizes our talent. We'll have another drop off at some point because conference play will intensify, specifically when we play ISU and visit the Texas schools.

Looking forward to earning a few more quality wins in the month of January.

That was one of the worst wins I can remember. The mental lapses down the stretch we inexcusable. On the other hand, Awaka played better and Del Orso has become a very different player, he even has had some sneaky good defensive plays over the last few games. KJ is my favorite player but his body language when he is frustrated is so bad it affects the game. If he can find that "onto the next play" mentality I think we are a legit contender. Not sure where his crossover  step-back jumper came from but it looks freaking sweet. Carter is definitely struggling defensively, but everybody made stupid mistakes last night so whatever.

KansasCityCats

It was sloppy but not awful. The shooting was decent but the rebounding was atrocious. Our defense actually forced a lot of bad shots.

Watching a frustrated KJ was rare but it's nice to see intensity from him and Awaka (who desperately needed a confidence booster).

Hopefully the team can take care of Baylor with the students back in Tucson on Tuesday.

Here I am pleasantly surprised.
4th in the AP Poll & 3rd in the Coaches Poll.

While I agree with the overall assessment, I have began the acceptance phase of grieving this team.

That would be known as Stage 5.

I think we are what we are. I don't believe we have peaked per se, but I think that winning ugly or letting some blow outs slip away back to just barely surviving is what we are.

I don't expect to get better.

I think our talent is what it is. It either performs or it doesn't.

That may be a mechanism of success when the time comes and the chips are down. We will have to see how the story unfolds.

Tommy has not really quieted me down as a critic. These are games we are supposed to win,  however, where I want to give him some due credit is I am seeing a very small effort from him lately to incorporate Half Court basketball into his system. That is basically what I feel has led to these wins on the streak. We are a much different problem for opponents when we are actually running plays. X's and O's. Not just run and chuck the first open running jumper. Not just the moonball lob. We have seen some sealing, some kick outs. Some of the "White Board" operation.

These were all basically the wins we needed to have.

Recency Bias is basically everything in CBB.

Now we are about to enter "The Alps".

Tougher teams with tougher athletes. I am not sure what we will see come of it.

Lately I like Henri + Bryant. They are playing with a mean streak. Tobe Awaka hasn't shown me that mean streak yet. Hopefully he does. This is Bradley's team and he is looking his part. Love needs to keep it cool and continue to let the game come to him.

I personally want to see Conrad more involved especially if we hit a lull. I don't want to see a game pop up where Tommy sees a problem forming and just goes down with the ship.

The in-game adjustments are what I am looking for going forward. KJ Lewis vs VJ Edgecombe is the type of matchup that a NBA Scout wants to see, but a smart Coach may not allow that matchup nor distraction to form. A lot of our success lately has come by committee. Bradley has really been a strong Floor General lately and we shouldn't take that lightly as fans.

There is going to be some swag attached to these games coming up. Caleb Love needs to continue to stay in control of his emotions as well as KJ.

"Open" NIL Era CBB is fully of uncertainty. Just like CFB. The SEC looks like it is the best Conference right now and that may hold true, but the Big12 still has top to bottom strength unlike any other conference.
