Final W/L in B12 play?

10-10
11-9
12-8
13-7
14-6
15-5
20-0 (for Pryme)

I thought we'd originally be around the 11-9 range and only win a couple on the road. We already have those 2. We can still get a W at Okl St and KSU. I'll stick with 11-9, but ceiling up to 13-7 imo.

Where is the sub .500 option? Can't be a legitimate poll without the possibility

Sticking with my original 13-7. Tough conference, although we should gain significant momentum if we can beat Baylor and roll through the remaining January matchups (until the tough one against ISU).

Not even sure sub .500 is possible with the schedule and how down the B12 is. I have them losing 2 home games and only having them beat Okl St and KSU on the road.

Anything can happen I guess. I don't think the Big12 is as bad as people are making it out to be. We don't need to be playing a Top 10 matchup every single weekend to get in some tough work. Even tonight we only scraped by 88-80 and we were pretty lucky this was a Home Game for us.This really ties into my other post of "Is This Really Who We Are?"We are up big in these games. Seemingly in cruise control, but then they are suddenly close optically and physically.A couple less Makes by us, a couple more Makes by them... these are not just routine Wins.SEC may be looking Dominant right now, but who knows how long that will last. They have not been that impressive in March Madness either. Plenty of let downs year to year. There just is no telling at the moment, but I will take these wins. Stack as many as we can get.I am not a "Style Points" type of fan. I used to be when we had a Prime Time University. Right now we are just trying to keep our heads above water in the New Era.

SEC is fantastic. I need to give CC a win on that regard.
I am just saying the B12 had 4 teams in the top 10 and maybe 8ish in the top 25. Not saying the conference is bad; just that all of them besides Iowa State seem to be overrated.

5 of the Top-11 in the BPI rankings are Big-12 teams.  In addition to Iowa State, I think that Houston is a legit Final Four contender.  Schools like Baylor, TTU, WVU, Cincy, KU and Arizona could beat anybody on any given day, despite their previous OOC struggles.  March will be interesting.

It's definitely not debatable which conference is strongest at the moment. SEC is playing well. Auburn is facing a bit of a Brandon Ashley injury situation right now. We will have to wait and see. Florida may not sustain their level. Kentucky has been a big time surprise so far and I like what Pope has done with that team. Calipari will have any team capable so I am not shocked he has Boogie Fland playing well at Arkansas.

The thing with CBB is there is too much recency bias and way too much Preseason Bias.

Unlike Football, CBB really should have no rankings until 6 weeks into the season or maybe 1 week after all the big OOC Tournaments are finished and we are in that phase of 4 to 5 games or so before Conference Play begins.

Then we really get a decent sense of what teams are actually good.

Coming into the season there was a ton of Big12 Hype based on last year.

The NIL Era is basically making the game into a Professional Mercenary Game. Unlike Football where usually the same teams will be consistently in the Top 25 year to year (and there may be 1 to 3 surprise turnarounds), CBB is basically just different teams every year and instead of over 100 players, there are really only 6 to 8 players that matter.

Most programs don't figure out those 6 to 8 guys until the dust settles of these Early Tourneys.

I think that the best will still rise to the top. Houston will be there. Kansas will be there. Iowa State may be peaking early, they have never sustained their level into March Madness that I can remember.

Duke is playing great basketball. UConn maybe fell off per their standard, but they will still be there. Gonzaga is going to be there by default because of their trash conference, but I think they have been pretty much exposed.

I think the Big12 will outshine all the conferences when the Dance comes. Just depends on how many bids we get.

This is echoing what I posted above. I take it 1 post at a time usually.

I think that the Big12 has the potency that will have something to say when the Big Dance comes around. I just wonder how many Bids we get. If the conference devours itself, that could play into things, but for me... I think there are at least 8 to 10 teams that belong in the field of 68 and probably 80% of those teams feel like 2nd or 3rd weekend capable.

It may sneak up on the CBB world at this point, but I like where we are currently in a year that is essentially a lost cause for me, it can still finish with some goals hit. I sincerely doubt anyone believes we will go undefeated in Conference play, but if we just keep taking it 1 game at a time, we could hang around the top of the Conference and "it's getting late, early" will be kicking in.

I usually don't lke Tommy's performance between after X-Mas through January historically, but if he can manage this month at this high level, then "the ceiling is the roof" meme will have a puncher's chance.
