The +/- stat is useless imo. Lineups are so varied and are not in together long enough to evaluate. It's hard to pin down which player in the lineup was responsible for a run or maybe the other team just shit the bed for a period of time. This says our best lineup was Love, Bradley, Del Orso, Townsend and Awaka. This has been our worst lineup in many of the past games.

It is even more useless for the way Tommy coaches. We are running and gunning way too much. It isn't high IQ.

Unfortunately some +/- will look AmAzInGz0rZ or outright suffer on all the 10-0 runs where no one touches the ball except "Love" or those times where we have like 3 bricks and 3 turnovers in a quick 6 possessions and allow transition bucket runs that Tommy allows before calling timeouts to stop the bleeding.

The +/- is the most accurate way to determine whether a player is effective on the court because his presence directly affects the final score.

Granted, players occasionally sit in the corner of the 3-point line and could just "occupy" the court while their teammates dominate but it accounts for being on both sides of the ball and is almost always a telling sign of whether a player deserves more minutes.

This game was obviously not the "norm" because UCF has a unique lineup that forced Lloyd to play specific matchups so I'll gladly disregard on this occasion but I'd be intrigued to see the numbers from the first half of the season.
