What is Lloyd doing wrong ?

He isn't doing anything wrong more than he isn't doing anything right. This isn't a wholesome modality anymore. We are a top tier premiere basketball program, not a mid major. Converting us into a mid major is something that should be considered a red flag.

If Carter Bryant doesn't commit I think that the boosters may need to step in and force the removal of Tommy Lloyd after next season. It is escalating to that sort of scenario quickly.

Did you watch Louisville play last season?  If so, you wouldn't hinge this recruitment on coaching ability because Lloyd's record breaking wins over a two year span outweigh the embarrassment of UL.

The boosters can't be upset if Bryant opts for the Cardinals because it would strictly be their fault if he doesn't come to Arizona. An NIL deal would be the sole reason that he opts for Louisville and  the boosters are the only ones that can control that outcome...

Kentucky women are some of the ugliest in the Nation per capita.

Also it doesn't matter what you think KC, Winning doesn't matter to these kids. They are retired before they are Sophomores at this point. Tommy either has to show he can participate at the highest level or he needs to move on back to under Mark Few's thumb.

At this rate it is looking more and more likely that Head Coach isn't a job for him. He doesn't thrive in the actual role. He rode some elite NBA level talent left behind and I refuse to listen to your bs about how he "re-recruited" them. They had no where else to go with no offers on the table. As soon as offers began to come in, they all bolted whether it was for the NBA Draft or now with NIL deals in the portal.

If Tommy can't land Bryant I think it is a heavy knock to his ability to bring in serious talent and this job requires an element of "non-wholesome" behavior that isn't really up his alley.

It's way too early to judge whether one recruit defines the potential success of a coach that won 61 games in his young two season career.

The way you speak makes it sound like you don't give the credit to the players who went out and won the games. Tommy doesn't coach X's and O's in-game. Never has, never will.

I am going to say there is a change that is occurring in real time.
NIL is changing the landscape, and schools need to win or pay to play.
Arizona is not in a position to land as many as they would, but I do believe that Lloyd should have landed more than he has at this point at least.
I am still going to wait a year or so before I really start to voice my opinion on the matter.
A good 2024 recruiting class would eliminate any thoughts I have at the moment.
