It is going to be VERY hard to be as good of a player as daddy was.
I am trying to think of the best father/son(s) combo in NBA history.
The only two I think of are the Barrys (Rick/John and Brent) and the Currys (Dell/Steph).

A lot of NBA HOFers have had their kids come through college ranks and flame out or not add up.
G.Robinson III, P.Ewing II, A.Mourning II, J. & M. Jordan are some of the first ones that come to mind.
S.O'Neal and B.Bol are very good prospects and could be on track to have good careers.
