Altman has always been a contender, Bobby will rise and fall and rise and fall, but Cronin is the real threat

I like our odds.  We finish first or second in my opinion.

This team has SO many question marks, we could finish anywhere from 1st to 9th.  I think the young talent is there & 4th is realistic, but I have no idea whether everybody can avoid COVID for an entire season.

I am sure that this is my biased opinion, but did I miss something where ASSU has a roster that is good enough to boast a 2nd place preseason ranking?
(Checks their 2019 roster and 2020 recruiting class online)
They are putting a lot of stock/hype into Bagley/Christopher being added to this team.
Martin/Verge/Cherry/Graham are key returners, but not 2nd best in the PAC-12.
I sound like a hater, so I think I should shut up now...

As far as us, we have way too many new pieces that are unproven so anything in the top 1/3rd of the PAC-12 I would consider a successful season this year.

You're not wrong.  Cherry is always taking crappy shots from the outside, and getting himself into foul trouble.  Hurley doesn't know how to teach him to take the ball inside, while under control.

Remy (glad his parents could spell) has the flattest shot in the Pac-12.  Not sure how it goes in, but it occasionally does.

assu is good enough to win a first round tournament game for the first time under Hurley.  Still, they won't finish 2nd in the league.

If we had the preseason conference player of the year, a double digit scorer back along with with a pair of top 28 recruits(including a top 10 recruit) set to come in we'd be freaking out if we weren't picked to even finish 2nd in the conference likely facing a down year. I don't believe the top 15 hype primarily because of their roster construction, I don't think they have the shooters to make up for their hole in the front-court but they definitely have the most firepower out of anyone in the PAC. Even though I'm not to high on UCLA I think you have to give them the top spot since they basically brought everyone back from a second place team. Oregon my pick to win the conference probably has the most balanced and deepest roster in the conference but you never how a team is going to react when losing a player is impactful as Pritchard. After that it is pretty open Stanford is getting some hype but losing Tyrell Terry was a huge blow imo. AZ and USC have a lot of talented freshman and transfers set to come in so as mentioned above they'll be hard to read. Personally surprised to see CU so low they bring back a lot of production from last year including McKinley Wright Id expect them to finish in the upper half

It's the frontcourt that will cause inconsistencies for Hurley.  He doesn't have a single player that's listed at 6'10"+...and his 6'7"-6'9" guys are rail-thin.  As usual, assu will rely heavily on their outside shooting, which is not a great philosophy if you want to progress beyond the First Four...
