I normally don't post, but I just wanted to share an experience I had with a possible former Wildcat baseball player that I met this past weekend.  I went to UA in 1989.  In 2003, I moved back to my hometown of Hilo, Hawaii.  Meeting former Wildcats here is pretty rare.

On Saturday, I was at my sons Mustang baseball game, wearing my UA baseball cap.  Prior to the game, the umpire was trying to get my attention and gave me a thumbs up and said, "Eh, man, BEAR DOWN!"  He went on to say that he is originally from Tucson and he signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Arizona.  He said it was in the days of Terry Francona, and of course, was going to play for Coach Kindall.  He also said he knew Jerry Kindall's son very well.

The next day, I talked to the guy again and found out he was a catcher, but never got to play because he suffered a bad arm injury.  He said that had he played, he would have been in the College World Series.  I never got his name, but next time I'm at the park I'll be sure to ask him.
