Arizona coach Tommy Lloyd extends contract to 2030-31!!!!

Tommy Lloyd was complimentary to UNC and said a reported phone call with Michael Jordan never happened. "My Michael Jordan is Steve Kerr," he said of the former Arizona star.

"I think we've made huge progress on what Arizona basketball can be," Lloyd said. "I love being in the middle of that and I'm thankful," he said of the community rallying aorund Arizona basketball.

I am not going to sit here and act like that I did not think there was a chance that Lloyd would leave for North Carolina.
What I will say is that I knew if he wanted to stay at Arizona, Lloyd was going to use that North Carolina offer to get a huge pay raise for him, his staff and whatever else he wanted.

Lloyd will walk out of this NCAA Tournament as the 4th-highest paid coach behind I believe Self/Calipari and I forgot who the third one was.
He also does not have to report to the AD, which I started to hear he did not have the best relationship with?
Lloyd is now going to have full say on how this program is going to be ran as he should.
I am not going to start trying to list where Arizona is as a top program in the country, or where Lloyd is as one of the top coaches in the country, BUT both are high on that list and Lloyd has a lot to do with that.
Congrats coach and we look forward to seeing what you can do at Arizona for the next five seasons!

I'll pretend that I knew Tommy was staying, but using the UNC offer to secure a better contract.

Let's hope he can win two more games this weekend. It would put Arizona in a new level of college basketball greatness, in addition to building Lloyd's resume, which is already impressive.

Lloyd staying at Arizona for the duration of his coaching career is the type of resume I respect most.
I forgot where he came from, and the example that was set for him.
Few could have landed ANY job in the country for as long as he has been at Gonzaga.
Instead, he stayed, will go down as their greatest coach ever, and will have a statue of him immediately!
