The shot was directed toward Oregon, who has been the biggest transfer hub in college basketball for the past 20 seasons. 16 in/out during the offseason is telling. They're unstable. If you think otherwise, you obviously haven't followed the PAC-12 offseasons under Altman.

No one Paid the Money these kids are paid have to EARN anything, but your obsession with EARNING only fortifies my comment that Tommy is wasting a lot of money by not being able to go more than 7.5 players deep. It is on Tommy. NIL Money is going to get thinner the more "Aristode's" that don't get playing time and choose to move on to greater pastures.

Arizona has one of the lowest number of transfers on an annual basis, since Lloyd arrived. In today's era, "somebody" is going to be upset with playing time.

Giving guys minutes so they avoid being butthurt in the offseason would be stupid. If a kid doesn't deserve playing time, they can play elsewhere.

The Cats continue to break records, so Coach is doing something right, in terms of player management (despite not being a top-10 NIL program).

Aristode to Oregon is a good move for him.
With so many prospects walking OUT of the door?
There are going to be so many roles that OPEN up for the prospects that are going to be coming in.
Aristode could become one of Oregon's top prospects, if not the #1 guy for Oregon next season.
Congrats and good luck to him!

It "should" be an ideal situation to be the primary scorer but when you have eight simultaneous transfers, you realistically have a lot of players that were leaving their schools because they selfishly want the same role. Hopefully, Aristode is grouped with players who can share the ball, and don't just shoot at will.

You cannot honestly tell me of all people that Dwyane Aristode is only useful as a guy standing at the perimeter for spot shooting 3pt shots (from the same spot basically every time to boot making Scouting easy) and then out the other side of your mouth say he has "ThE HiGhEsT CeILiNg" for a Future NBA player.

Tommy didn't make a point to anyone last year by wasting his abilities.

If you want to say Sidi Gueye wasn't ready, fine. I agree. He was like Bambi out there. Not capable of playing at a Power Conference level. Not a capable Passer nor Receiver. Only slightly Bouncy with a block or two on his Highlight Reel denoting he has Athleticism, but no body control nor dribbling/handling skill at all.

Sidi was not needed.

Aristode was a 3 level weapon that Tommy mishandled. Either Tommy doesn't know how to coach a 6'8" 230lb SF that can play PF in College who can clearly do it all, or Tommy got stubborn about "practice" as you would say and VOLUNTARILY CHOSE to WASTE the time of Aristode which wastes the Money spent on Aristode and sends signals to people on the Outside that when Tommy gets his Blue Chips he isn't going to care about the 3rd, 4th, or 5th guys.

There is no sense in sugarcoating it. Tommy created a rift with Aristode and as I said, unless a Biblical Miracle happens and Koa Peat returns, the whole season was for nothing for Aristode. His only true highlight and contribution being a guy who came in for the BYU game to guard AJ Dysbanta when everyone else was put in Foul Trouble and he was Effective.

Tommy can't be getting "left" by guys like Aristode. He can be left by Dan Batcho, Paulius and even Adama Bal who all were International guys that got sold a Lie, but Aristode was not a true International.

This is a bad look no matter how you spin it. Even if Koa, the Messiah, Peat returns to finish the job he started.

I really think you just hold bias against Oregon for some player failures by Arizona such as Josh Green, Koloko, etc that led to some tough losses in recent memory.

Dana Altman is not a Rival nor Big Bad Wolf. Not even sure if he should still be their coach at this point and I don't even google to know if he is. Very irrelevant to the lore of Arizona Basketball outside of a few close losses that Players failed on, but Coaching got them to the Game Winning, Game Losing situations.

Aristode was utilized for his "current" strengths. Can he get to the basket and shoot FT's?  Absolutely not.

Delly took a FT every 7.72 minutes, and he was our least effective player at the rim. Aristode averaged a FT every 23.1 minutes...and only made HALF of the attempts.

His inability to cover AJ wasn't the issue. He didn't play because he was too slow to cover guards and his footwork wasn't refined enough to keep opponents out of the paint.

Your odd perspective that I consider Altman a rival is perplexing. I have nothing against Oregon. The specific situation isn't ideal for Aristode. 8 kids left other programs for increased playing time. Aristode should be effective in that system but 7 other experienced players could keep him from being "the guy", which is his purpose in leaving.

That alone says Tommy doesn't understand how to coach a 6'8" 230lb kid. Why would he be tasked to cover smaller Guards at the perimeter that are only going to get him easily switched and cause him to be on skates chasing?  Makes no sense. Aristode is not a "small" in College.

KansasCityCats

It's not a matter of coaching; it's a result of Arizona's size. Aristode is primarily at the SF position because he's the 3rd tallest player on the court.

Most D-1 schools aren't deep enough to have a 6'8" wing. He's just a freshman and obviously isn't ready to defend quicker players.

That'll change. But not in Tucson.
