This was arguably the best situation for Love to walk into.

1. POR trades Simons to BOS, and gets back Holiday
2. Holiday does not want to be in POR, meaning he SHOULD be on the move
3. Love will compete with Sharpe/Thybulle for mins at that SG spot

My point is POR is not setup to win now, and they do not have any reason to make moves to drastically upgrade their roster.
I could see a world where Sharpe and/or Thybulle is traded out of POR.
Outside of maybe BKN/CHA and maybe NO, POR was the best situation for him.

Portland has a team and it won the same amount of games as the Suns last year.

Jerami Grant is no slouch. Shaedon Sharpe, no slouch. Clingan.

Scoot Henderson, Toumani Camara, Deni Avdija, Jerami Grant, and Deandre Ayton.

Rob Williams, Cedric Coward, Yang Hansen

Jrue Holiday adds a very steady hand off the bench for the Blazers if they want him there.

I don't see why Portland wouldn't be trying to win games. The 2026 Draft is going to have at least 25 Studs to pick from. If anything, I see Boston trying to dump Anfernee Simons asap before his stock tanks when he doesn't get to chuck as many shots. Jrue is an older player and may help a "Contender" by the Deadline.

Or it does also appear possible that a Mega Trade is in the works as Nurkic was traded today for Collin Sexton in a huge head scratcher and even Lonzo Ball was dealt. The big extension to Jabari Smith makes no sense for Houston. There could be some big action on the horizon. Especially with Lebron's nonsensical message sent when opting into his 50 million dollar deal that he is keeping an "eye" on the Lakers and their ability to compete for a Championship... Smells like Lebron wants out to me. I wouldn't be shocked if Lebron bolts back to the "WEAK EAST" again for 1 last ride in Cleveland, Miami, or somewhere else for good measure since there will be no resistance in the East wherever he chooses to Super Team.

I do believe that POR wants Holiday.
I also believe that Holiday wants to be on a contender in the final years of his career.

I am not saying that POR is trying to tank, but I do believe they are trying to figure out a new direction for this franchise.
I can see a situation where they move off of Grant with Ayton/Thybulle/Williams free agents after this season.
They in the middle of a rebuild trying to figure out their new franchise player and pieces to put around him.
It seems like Avdija/Camera/Clingan/Henderson/Sharpe are a part of the future right now.

I too believe that a lot of franchises are positioning themselves for something big.
The 2026 Free Agency is (allegedly) supposed to be loaded with big names.
I am not sure if that is why teams are making these moves, but something is up.

I also believe that Lebron is on his last season in Los Angeles.
I think he is going to play out his last season or two in CLE with what they have up there, and the amount of cap space they will have after this season?
Teams are making some funny moves in the light, and I am not sure about most of them.

Before the Celtics started making all these moves, I would have called Milwaukee and asked them if they wanted to trade Giannis for Tatum straight up lol the Celtics could have kept competing and the Bucks could have tanked for a top pick with Lillard and Tatum having the year off.

Are we gonna get the 3 way PG shuffle: Garland to Memphis, Ja to Charlotte, LaMelo to Cleveland?

I kinda think this could be Lebron's last year, not because he's falling off, but because it will be season #23. He likes numerology and symbolism and all that shit. Maybe he'll play the first half of the year in LA and then get traded (w/ Bronny) to the Knicks before the deadline. Bucket list.

He is known for only having a legacy in the Weak East. Returning to the Cavs, Knicks, Heat would probably be his only way to make it to the Finals and have a chance at a Ring.

He shouldn't stop at 23 years. He should play 25 years minimum. Play with Bryce and Bronny for half of 1 quarter. Then retire. Bryce is the future of the league anyway. Tommy will fumble the bag again and probably not play Bryce. But Bryce is the 3rd best player on this roster.

PS - Ayton was bought out. He may just go to the Lakers which would be fitting. However, Lebron should be gearing up to get out of there ASAP. He has left every team he has been on in shambles, but if the Lakers can find a way to retain Luka long term then it won't be nearly as bad as the other teams. Ayton should opt to try to sign with the Wizards though. A team where he can reinvent himself next to Alex Sarr.

Yeah man - LeBron is kinda like the Aaron Rodgers of Basketball.  Kills teams and coaches
