He has a nice shooting touch, but I'm tired of 7 footers who cant dunk

Ha.  Based on the footage, that's a fair point.  I'm pretty sure Karnowski can teach him to be more aggressive around the basket.

Wabbington's soft touch actually reminds me of Brandon Ashley.  Nice footwork and high release.

Dunking is the best, but it is too archaic now.

If you really watched the footage there, this kid demonstrated unique ability to harness his body to be able to generate a very soft and smooth shot. His legs aren't small/snappable. He has a bit more on his shoulders and frame than the 6'11" kids we have coming in this season. He clearly has a bit of a gut too which means he has meat on him, just in the wrong places. Nutrition and strength programming could make this kid into a very monstrous prospect if he can learn to throw his weight around a bit more.

I am curious how in Tommy is with this kid. That shooter's touch is not to be overlooked nor his footwork though I don't know what level of competition that truly is. Not everyone has to do everything with Force to be effective. Plenty of Keshod Showtime Johnson's around that can hype a crowd.

And for the record, I am usually the Heel to some people around here, but I think that this kid has something nice going for him organically physically.

Plenty of shuffle stepping going on that goes uncalled I am sure at that level. Can be cleaned up.

It is a fairly quick release in the paint area, but outside he cranks it back. Although he seems to be unblockable from deeper out when elevating, the quick snap release at the end of all windups from his wrist compared to the softness of the ball going through is impressive.

Again, not sure the level of competition, but the smaller try-hard white kid got at least a hand in his face on one of the highlights and Wabbington had no issue with the muscle memory.
