If you had Biff's Almanac, you would clean up on this type of contest.

My thought ----> You should consider changing it to closest score gets Credit.

Maybe not give away something every time for a closest pick, but if you accumulate 10 "closest scores", you can redeem for something.

That gives everyone a fighting chance to participate and accrue credits. Either 10 "closest" picks indefinitely running a Tab (reward activity from loyal members), or 5 "closest picks per Calendar year including both Football and Basketball to give a realistic chance to get 5 closest scores out of 45 matchups or so.

Qualitatively, that would show who has their finger on the pulse most often. A respectable effort in Sports knowledge and tuning into games enough to make educated guesses.
