Little George

Not a lot new here as everyone has talked about this position in depth all summer long. Dawkins and Tate are the top two and I see both playing. Both will be much improved over last year. Like when we had Denker starting, we don't need a super start to carry the team to success. We need a steady guy who can control the offense and minimize the mistakes while taking what the D is giving. Both of these two players have the ability to do this.
The 3rd spot will come down to Tate and Rhett Rod. If all things are even Tate will likely get the nod as Rhett really needs to add strength, but don't underestimate Rhett's potential. He already knows the O better than anyone on the roster. Denker mastered the play book and game plan and was able to over come the arm issues. Rhett really does not have an arm issue.
Lane will likely RS and devope for the future.
RR wants 3 he can win with. Over the season D Tate will likely be that guy, but if we had to go 3 deep right away, Rhett would be the guy.

I believe Dawkins realizes & will take advantage of being the starter with all the competition. As we saw the quarterbacks are only one big hit away from being taken out.  Now we have what seems to be a capable backup in  K. Tate who admitted to not being in shape last year which caused him to go into panic mode once he was tired. 3rd is Rhett Rod who knows the playbook better than anyone else. It's going to be interesting to see how much Donavan Tate progresses throughout the year. Nice to have such a stable of quarterbacks like this at the UofA.
