I know it wasn't a good outing by the Cats Baseball team, but we really lost this game on the extra runners issue. Yes the pitching staff threw a LOT of pitches, but you do when you walk so many players and hit so many batters. Those extra base runners were the difference in this game. almost like watching little league when the pitcher cannot get the ball over the plate and a team walks in 4 to 6 runs and inning. Scores from those players and on wild pitches really hurt Arizona last night. I guess I never understood the approach of walking a player. The ball stays in the park on most hits so why not allow your fielders to play D behind your pitchers? More balss thrown last night than strikes and it cost us bad! That includes multiple wild pitches.
Loading bases with only one player getting a hit in the fourth, fifth, and sixth was playing with fire. Then we got burnt!
