We will start with 2004, Stoops first year. Remember that sometimes the first year coach is signing a class that is already committed and are not necessarily that coaches players. Rank includes JC guys, but I only list HS recruits in the top 100. Ranking is National and PAC. Record for the current year W/L over all and conference. Bowl game

Stoops, 2004-2011
2004: 14 top 1000 players, ranked 41st and 9th.  3-8/2-6
2005:  15 top 1000 players, Ranked 23rd and 4th.  3-8/2-6     
2006:  15 top 1000 players, ranked 19th and 2nd.  6-6/4-5
2007:  7 top 1000 players, ranked 59th and 10th.  5-7/4-5
2008:  11 top 1000 players, ranked 27th and 6th.  8-5/5-4  W Las Vegas-BYU
2009:  12 top 1000 players, ranked 50th and 9th. 8-5/6-3  L Holiday-Nebraska
2010:  8 top 1000 players, ranked 58th and 10th.  7-6/4-5  L Alamo-Oklahoma State
2011:  9 top 1000 players, ranked 48th and 9th. 4-8/2-7   Stoops fired mid-year.

The strength of this team came from the 05/06 recruiting classes. Name Stoops brought some good players in but when Stoops couldn't get over the top his recruiting numbers went down. That was also when there were problems in the home front with his extra marital affairs and divorce and He was just not at the top of his game. as a coach.

2013:  10 top 1000 players, ranked 44th and 7th.  8-5/4-5  W Advo Care-Boston Coll
2014:  13 top 1000 players, ranked 31st and 6th.  10-4/7-2  L Fiesta-Boise State   Lots of JC guys in this class
2015:  6 top 1000 players, ranked 29th and 4th.  7-6/3-6  W New Mexico-New Mexico  Lots of JC guys in this class.
2016:  8 top 1000 players, ranked 48th and 9th.  3-9/1-7 
2017:  14 top 1000 players, ranked 45th and 10th. 7-6/5-4  L Foster Farms-Purdue

Really our best coach until he turned to the JC ranks for players and involved himself in extra marital affairs. His distractions cost him, but other the new admin did not really like him either and that hurt his career. RR felt he had the team headed for big things in 2018 with Tate and a solid run game returning.

Sumlin, 2018-2020
2018:  8 top 1000 players, ranked 61st and 11th.  5-7/4-5                             and with a real star on the team.
2019:  6 top 1000 players, ranked 56th and 11th.  4-8/2-7
2020:  6 top 1000 players, ranked 59th and 11th.  0-5/0-5

The total failure of a coach to even look at his talent and merely adjust.

Fisch, 2021-
Yet to be seen, but like when RR entered the picture, the team is not empty and void of talent. Just not up to P5 level for sure.
2021: 1 top 1000 player, ranked 77th and 11th. Hit the transfer portal hard.
2022: Just getting started with only 5 players committed so far. 4 top 1000 players, ranked 29th and 4th.
