I am writing this to say that Adia is overrated. She squandered an opportunity to win a National Title. A very winnable game. She rode the back of a great player in Aari McDonald then proceeded to get paid and act like she was better than everyone else and didn't have to coach anymore. She may be the single biggest waste of space in Arizona Athletics. The word disappointment comes to mind and that is being kind. I think that she has a weird relationship with some of her players/ex players. Especially hanging out or netflixing with them in their living spaces. Unprofessional is another kind word I will use and leave it at that. I think it is a little more on the uncomfortable side of things.

But above and beyond any of that, she has just simply not lived up to the hype.

If anyone disagrees, feel free to post your excuses below. Any silence will be taken as full agreement.

She seems like she might be a sociopath. I'm no psychiatrist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Aari is not the only impact player that contributed in McKale over the past 5 seasons.

Did you actually see the state of the program prior to Asia's arrival?  This was a Lute-ish rebuild and she has exceeded all expectations in a sport that is repeatedly dominated by the same dozen programs (similar to college football).

Arizona has consistent elite recruiting classes and will continue to win as long as our staff is intact.

Our "excuse" for this season is that the entire team was injured. We are ridiculously short-handed and still played a top-5 CU team down to the wire...followed up by a WIN against a ranked Utah team.

Our ladies will be back to the top against next season, although the Big-12 is surprisingly tough. KU, KSU, ISU and Baylor are all on track to succeed. Can't wait to see how the Cats transition.

Yes KC
But having the roster she had those furst two years put the expectations to follow really high. I love our tenacity on D! We are just a huge flop on O. I think the roster changes, transfers, and injuries have hurt us for two years now. Nnaji leaving basketball doesn't help. Priorities though. She is a great young lady and I wish her well.

Absolutely.  If Maya had transferred to another program, I'd be worried about Arizona.  I think she recognized that it's extremely difficult to focus on the professional medical world while being a high-level student athlete.  I don't blame her but the decision comes at a time that impacts the already depleted depth of our program.  Regardless, I respect the hell out of the entire Nnaji family; amazing ambassadors for the U of A!

Your point is well-taken about the offense.  Arizona has never been able to score in bunches.  Our defense is nasty but I'd like to see an interior player (not named Cate Reese) that can score in the paint.  Nnaji would have been that player...

The players in place as well as the teams Adia has put together have been nothing short of a disappointment. All the hype that she had is gone. She simply took her bag and is coasting. I am concerned this mentality is leaking into the Men's program. Hopefully Tommy understands he has to perform this season or he will officially be on the hot seat. There is no free lunch when it comes to the basketball boosters and moving to the Big12 is not like Gonzaga coming into the Pac12 in a very loose example. There are expectations and the competition is much stiffer.

Adia may not make it much longer. Let this be a lesson.

Adia is a former pro that could take any women's job of her choice. She wants to stay at her Alma mater and create a legacy. The "expectations" have always been low for the women's program. Bomvincini had a nice long tenure but wasn't fired while not make the postseason altogether.

We were one shot away from a national title and have attracted more fans (within a small market) to regular season games than some schools see in an entire season. Selling out McKale is no small feat.

Adia reached new heights and she isn't going anywhere, unless she retires and wants to be with her family in Tucson someday.

Squandered the only chance at a Natty and I find her to be obtuse to say the least. To say a bit more, I think she gets weird with the athletes. No coach lays around in bed/in the living space with their athletes watching netflix.
