This isn't an "Arizona should have kept Sean Miller" post.

This post is about Institutional competency vs ineptitude

Kansas is now a [role] model of how to do business and handle the entire situation properly. Bill Self has a lifetime contract as a result of the Ghouls not flinching and not being underhanded including a clause that the school cannot fire Self for cause "due to any current infractions matter that involves conduct on or prior to" the signing of the deal.

Anyone can love Tommy Lloyd all they want, but until Tommy Lloyd gets a Life Time Contract like this based on the continuity (cheating) and consistency (relevant recruiting), then it remains true that firing Miller after he rebuilt the entire program from scratch after the FBI was a vicious and heinous act by the Ghouls who run the show.

Tommy certainly can care less as he got his first "big break" as a result, but if he thinks his job is safe and that the University of Arizona Basketball Program stands for Loyalty, Decency, and Respect he is lying to himself.

Tommy is now 100% on the clock now that Miller's final contributions that made Tommy Lloyd shine bright are almost all NBA players. As we move forward into the Big12, it will be interesting to see if Arizona can actually win some Conference Titles and Conference Tournament Banners or if Tommy is about to get out-recruited by Bill Self immediately (Zoom?).

It's not as easy to recruit kids to Kansas as it may seem. For one, nobody likes Adidas. Additionally, you have to live in Kansas.

Watch it 😉

The campus is actually ridiculously nice. Mass Street is much better than University and the local food/concert options are better than Tucson (unless you can handle Hispanic food 24/7).

Trust me, I'd pick Arizona 10 times out of 10 for the weather, views, students, diversity and extracurriculars (and I DID leave Kansas for Arizona in 2000).

But Allen fieldhouse is an amazing place to watch games, their facilities rival ours, their strength and conditioning program is the only one in America that competes with the wonderful Chris Rounds and their boosters have deeper pockets.

Yes, adidas sucks. Unfortunately, Arizona is the stepchild that Nike can't embrace. Other programs received better benefits and jerseys on a regular basis.

KU's NIL system is well organized and I know a lot of the people on the inside (specifically, the ones who donate). The system makes me sick but it's part of college basketball now. It's an administration issue and has nothing to do with the coaches, except for "wining and dining" boosters, so you don't fall behind the rest of the college programs.

With that said, I can't wait until we destroy Kansas next year. I'll absolutely be in Allen Fieldhouse when the Cats travel to Lawrence.

Bill Self signs a LIFETIME Contract with Kansas. But we already knew that, what we didn't know is he would get the terms amended to be even more favorable and become the highest paid Head Coach.

The alumni need to pay him. He threatened to retire approximately six years ago and needs incentive to stick around. He sure knows how to teach the high-low lob!

Looks like he will be able to afford another upgrade to his hair piece. It gets a little more convincing every time. Congrats Coach Self!
