Today we will take a look at the RBs

This has for some time been a strength of the program even when we were not very good as a team. Part of that falls back onto coaching, play calling, and just recognizing we actually have a run game. Some falls back on the lack of a solid OL to open the way before us. One of the huge pluses with this staff is that the OC is actually the OL coach. I look for an explosive O this year and part of it will be because of the strength of the OL, but the quality and depth of the RBs will show a true strength to the program this year. We will clearly go four deep in the RB rotation. It also helps to have an outstanding passing game.

#6 Michael Wiley

Michael is a workhorse in many ways, but has great balance in his overall skills which is why he is the clear cut starter. He can do everything well. Look for more split time at RB between at least four RBs, but don't expect a drop off for this young man.

#8 DJ Willims

Most people have Coleman listed as second on the depth chart and that could very well be, but I list DJ as second for a reason. DJ has a little more to offer than Coleman in his overall skill set. The reason he was limited last year is that he wasn't fully healthy. This is his last year to put it out there and he is finally healthy going into the season. IF he can avoid the injury I think his impact will be far more than most expect from him. He is a bigger back, but has big play potential on any play.

#3 Jonah Coleman

Most have him second and I can see why. Jonah can also be a game changer at any point during a game. Jonah has a good skill set, but is a little less balanced than Michael or DJ. While he will impact the game this year, the future will be brighter for Jonah.

#21 Rayshon Luke

Listing this kid fourth on the depth chart only speaks of the depth at the position. He is NO power runner, but his pure athleticism and speed goa long way into making him a must play guy. Big play potantial! Because of his abilities and the fact that he is fourth onthe depth chart, I sure hope we get to see him on Special Teams as a returner.

#23 Stevie rocker

Another testiment of the depth of our RB room. Stevie is a solid RB with a good balance of skills that could be used. He is currently burried behind some very good RBs on the depth chart. If he makes an appearance do not look for a major drop off in ability.

#29 Brandon Johnson

Just a true freshman and playing time may not happen right away, but IF Brandon sticks around, in time he will be a major contributor to this program. Very talented young man with gifted moves and speed.

Keeping the offense on the field and making an effort to maximize time of possession can take a lot of pressure off a young and inexperienced defense.
