One of my favorite stories involves Gabe York, an excellent shooting guard from Arizona who slipped through the cracks. He went undrafted in the 2016 draft and has persevered for his chance, becoming one of the oldest players in the G League. The factors we discussed earlier work against him because NBA teams aren't actively seeking a 29-year-old player to warm their bench.

Nice Wild, always been a fan and continue to root for his success.

After watching this tonight, it's hard to not consider York one of my favorite Cats of all time. Always loved his game.

Gabe York was the best player at TBT this summer. He nearly got Friday Beers to the Finals.

Interestingly enough, the Buffalo team that won it all last year lost this year I believe in the 2nd round after starting a game super hot up 17pts I think going 4-6 from 3 then proceeding to finish like 5-35 from 3 overall.

Really proves it's a make of miss sport these days and when it comes to March Madness formats, anyone can have the night of their lives against anyone.

When a team is hot only the players on the court can match the scoring for scoring. There is no true coaching adjustment you can make to stop 4 3pt shooters on a barrage jacking up reckless shots playing loosely. (Buffalo)

However, when you are playing games in the 50-60's range, not getting decimated by hot shooting, that is 100% on the in-game coaching. (Princeton)

Hope to see some better coaching going forward. Tommy has all the tools and none of the excuses left from my vantage point.

That is a delusional statement. Arizona finished THIRD in offense in both of Lloyd's seasons.

Under Miller, the Cats NEVER finished in the top-15...and ranked #202 in 2018-19 (which is embarrassing).

One game doesn't define an offense. 12 years of ugly offense does. This brand of basketball is fun...unlike the TBT.

Best of luck to York this season. Would love to see him earn a contract and fulfill his dreams of building a career in the league.

I'd rather watch TBT than Tommy get out-classed year in, year out in March. Miller however brought a horrible Xavier roster to the 2nd weekend and nearly the Elite 8 with mostly 3 stars and his best player injured. Tommy, however, squandered every opportunity he has had. The Conference was so soft the last 2 years and he still couldn't get anything done. All this talk of "fun pace" and you probably have 2 functional eyes so tell me where that run and gun, fun and free pace went the last 2 Madness's. Tommy was taken to the shed and you can't deny it. He lost the locker room both of the past seasons down the stretch. You can bend the knee to Tommy pre-emptively, but I will not. Tommy is currently not "Him" until proven otherwise. Deal with it.

The conference was soft and he earned hardware, along with winning the most games in a two year period for any new coach...EVER.  Look at our roster; it isn't full of 5* recruits (unlike every Miller team after 2012).

The lack of competition could be a factor in the early postseason exit, so a move to the Bog-12 could greatly benefit Arizona.

If the TBT is more entertaining, perhaps you should be on their message boards (or start one, as their first fan).

Tommy's accolades are meaningless to anyone outside of Wildcat fans. I know it's hard for you to understand that, but College Hoops fans have next to no amazement for anything that goes on in Tucson. The day that a Tommy Lloyd coached team brings an edge or strikes fear into opponent's hearts is the day I will do a write up on it.

PS - TBT's following is far larger than this forum's I can tell you that.

I live in a huge basketball market. Every time somebody sees my Arizona gear, license plate or tattoos, they immediate comment about the basketball program. Tucson hoops has only been established for 40 years but it's name recognition hasn't been stronger.

When I used to be in Albuquerque I wore my jerseys and right away people were like "Hell yeah Bear Down!". Always good to represent!
