The story leaked that Kaluma didn't come to Arizona because Lloyd refused to force a square peg into a round hole.  Kaluma "exclusively" wanted to play the 3 so he can jack up a bunch of 3's and Lloyd wanted him to be a versatile big man (because we need a backup 4).  the kid was obviously not a team player & it's OK to let him go. Tyty's father ran the recruitment & Coach Cal obviously made the sales pitch that he could be another one and done PG in Lexington.  Again...that's OK because we need stability when restarting a program; a short-term player is not the answer at the point.

Lloyd was far from nostalgic propaganda in Spokane.  He was outspoken within the program and was a huge contributor as Few's right hand man (similar to Rosborough and Lute).  He was an international recruiter because the Zags needed a niche to bring in high-end talent.  They were a small school in a small town within a small conference.  they rarely went after 5* kids because it's hard to get commitments...even if you continue to win.

We learned our lesson that 5* recruiting doesn't work.  Lloyd is building a program full of kids that WANT to be here and it will be fun to see the progression of success over the next 2-3 seasons.

I believe what KCC is saying.

CTL is not going to allow the ranking to dictate him bringing in the talent.
I wish CSM focused on getting the talent that would fit the type of atmosphere he wanted the program to have.
