Probably the first time a walk on transferring was newsworthy.

Coach Cal expects his son to stay in Lexington, although he could get decent minutes at a mid-major program.

What I'm confused about is you go to an elite school, tuition free, and you want to leave?
Do not tell me it's about playing time because he KNEW he wasn't going to be playing much when he decided to go to Kentucky.
In the end, I hope he finds what he is looking for but I don't understand this.
It sounds more like a PR stunt to me..

It sounds like he's just exploring his options and would like more playing time and they didn't think it would get this much attention. No harm if he ends up back at Kentucky but having spent a couple of years there he seems prepared to play some minutes at a mid-major or smaller school if given a chance.
