IMO, every Wildcat fan should be happy about this.

1. It's great for Luke.
2. It's great for our Legacy as a basketball school.
3. Its great for UCLA - our brothers in the PAC12 - like it or not, high tide floats all boats.

Yes, I'd much rather he come here, but apparently Heeke is in no hurry to put the dumpster fire out. Burn baby, burn!

Guess I'm a bit jaded but it's just business.  If you were him it makes sense.  Not sure if he has a family but if so he doesn't have to move, it's a prestigious job for his resume.  Probably pays well.  If he has kids no change in schools.  Good for him.  I don't have a fond dislike for UCLA the way I do for USC and ASU.  At my age I don't even hate those schools the way I used to hate them.

I'm guessing he would be interested in Arizona if the timing were right and we had a need.  But, as it stands the community, boosters and seemingly most fans don't want Sean Miller going any where.   Mr. Walton needs to look out for his own best interest and should he be fired this is a great opportunity for him.

It's asking a lot of him to not take the UCLA position due to his UA loyalty and history when Arizona isn't loyal enough to fire the existing coach to hire Luke.

I'm on board with this thinking. I also see a silver lining in this potential cloud--If Luke takes over at Westwood, his old man, in all likelihood, wouldn't be doing the commentating on UCLA games. That's not much of a consolation, but I'd gladly take it.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. Of course we all love Luke and he loves the UA but he hasn't actually done any good coaching yet. He stepped in for Kerr when he was injured and kept a team winning that was one of the best in NBA history. Then he went to the Lakers and he honestly he hasn't been that great. Let UCLA hire him. Let's see how good he is at coaching, let's see how good he is at recruiting at the college level. We all think he'll be great but we don't know this. Let's let him learn at UCLA then if the time comes we need a new coach and he's doing a good job there we take him and say FUCLA!

I want him for everything but his coaching ability. It's his youth and the people who coached him up that make me want him. He would instantly be more marketable than miller, more clout than miller. With an alumna, we wouldn't sweat everytime a big d1 job opens up. Lukes mentors are literally the best coaches in history at the pro and college level.

Absolutely.  He's a young kid that won NBA rings, has a HOF dad and would be one of the best NCAA recruiters in a major market.

People may actually start going to games at Pauley if Luke is hired...

Of course Luke being successful, at any level, is great for him and ARIZONA. I'm having a hard time swallowing this because it's fucla, or probably any school in the PAC. I understand a stronger conference is a stronger UofA, acc...big1?, but having to see, lose to, Luke twice a year would blow. Plenty of schools around the country would love to have him, if the LakeShow lets him go, just not fucla please.

Exactly!
As a business move, UCLA would be one of the best schools to revive.
That is the type of 2nd tier program you spent 25+ years at as long as things are going well for him and the program.
Do what's best for you Lute, even if that means becoming the enemy.
