Kadeem Allen taken by the Celtics in the second round with the 53rd pick

Former Arizona Wildcat Kadeem Allen was drafted with the 53rd pick in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.

The news was first reported by Shams Charania of The Vertical.

Allen's selection came as a surprise in a draft night full of surprises and last-second deals. The Arizona guard wasn't on any mock drafts, and was ranked 64th of Draft Express' top 100 prospects.
