The Big12 seems to be off to a Strong Start imho. Can't necessarily judge anyone by Week 0 nor Week 1, but now in Week "2", I am seeing that other Big12 teams are playing well in some rough and tumble matchups.

I am curious to see if Arizona has enough grit to compete this year.

Are we the Hammer?

or

Are we the Nail?

with Arizona it depends on the day.......

While I witnessed a few Big12 teams go down today and another few barely survive.. a few thrived.

Kansas stuck out to me. @Mizzou is a HARD game by my metrics. They are going to be tough.

ASU has an Elite QB/WR tandem, but I don't think they are much more than that. They may have achieved as much as they ever will in this era with having a case of the "skattaboos" last year.

Army showed grit. Kansas State is not a true "pretender" they cannot be taken lightly at all.

Our schedule is not really that hard.... IF we were a Top 10 type team...

But we aren't, so it is going to prove to be difficult.

For Example - Penn State, Ohio State types would plow through our slate. Most of the SEC would destroy it too.

We just are in this "grey area" where our future is "up to us to decide".

We CAN win basically Every game on our slate.

We CAN lose basically any game on the slate outside of this Weber St game (if it ever gets played)

1 addendum - Kansas is not a great running team. They can air it out though. I don't know how that will translate, but if Arizona can continue to Zig (run the ball well) while the Big12 zags (play for the big throws) playing wild high scoring ball... we can emerge as a contender.

Power Rankings:
1. Utah
2. Iowa State
3. TCU
4. Texas Tech
5. ASU - still think they are solid with all the returning talent; and they are Big and great in the trenches
6. Baylor
7. Kansas
8. BYU
9. Kansas St - QB is too volatile, but have had a tough slate so far
10. Arizona - Will know more after the K St game.
11. Houston
12. Colorado
13. UCF
14. Cincinnati
15. West Virginia
16. Oklahoma St.

Jaylon Daniels is a rollercoaster. Kansas will go as far as he takes them. They lost their star RB and it's obvious. Mizzou's QB tore his ACL in week 1 so that matchup wasn't as tough as it seemed on paper.

K-State will be playing angry next weekend. Avery is a solid QB but his weapons are as dangerous as last season. We have a chance.

I love seeing CU struggle. So much hype for a coach that doesn't believe in teamwork.

assu looked like crap. They came out in the second half with a lot of effort but they forgot to recruit throughout the offseason and I don't think they deserved their Top 15 ranking last week...

They were ranked based off of the hype of last year + QB and WR tandem. It is still 11 on 11 though.

They are a good team.

I don't think Kansas is a fluke overall.

And also think like you here with KSTATE this is a Back to the Wall game for them. We can improve our "stature" with a good win against them. Non Conference technically, but if we win and KState picks up momentum, that win will look better and better.

Interesting rankings considering a lot of teams under us beat us last year.

Sort of my point... Our schedule is a cupcake for "Ohio State, Penn State, Oregon, Georgia etc"

But for us, it is like a coin flip every game.

We need to show up and win.

Agreed. KU is well coached and plays hard. Prior to injury, Daniels was stellar so hopefully he reverts back to his form from last year when he visits Tucson for homecoming.

Okie State was absolutely embarrassed by Oregon last week. That's what Gundy gets for ripping on Nike. They may be the only "easy win", unless it was a fluke.
