His best option would be to return, but you never know with these kids.

Just my numbers so things could be a little different.

We have 14 senior scholarship players leaving. The one we do not yet know about is Bill Norton who has one more year left if he chooses to use it. I believe he will. Patu is the other player that was able to return if he chooses to has entered the portal to transfer. With Patu in the portal we are sitting at 6 leaving via transfer. That is five additional open scholarships. IF the two players that came late last year as walk-on guys until they could see play (Hyatt and English) are covered by these losses, We should be sitting right at the 85 player limit, plus or minus one. If I am right we can grab one from the portal without losing anyone else, but I still expect a couple/few more to leave. I would expect up to three or four more to leave the team at this point. We will see, but that is the situation. IF we gain from the portal it will be limited to what we lose from the same portal. We need addition by subtraction!

With Kayo Patu decommitting our class sits at 18 players right now. Patu transfer/Patu decommit. You might make an assumption there is a connection.

The biggest gain is keeping big Bill Norton. We are looking at DL first and foremost.

Other positions are maybe a LB (hint), an Edge guy with size, and if a really good OT comes along. I do not think the LS and punter situations are in a must fill situation and the TE is solid, but falls near the OT situation.

I would like to see Rushing get pancaked by some good old fashioned NFL sized corn fed big10 boys next year if he even gets playing time.
