Little George

Let's look at the LBs!

Nothing against Roberts who filled a valuable role with us last year, but he wasn't a P5 LB. He would have been fine in a rotation situation, but not as the starting MLB. Just saying! The changes? There are many!

#5 Jacob Manu

Jacob was a smaller kid that was playing a major role on the practice squad at one point. He was so impressive there that he eventually took over that starting WLB spot and he did not disappoint! I think Jacob stole some hearts with his play last year. With a year of experience and extra strength he has added he will be a solid leader in our D this year.

#15 Daniel Heimuli

I put him second because overall he will be the starting MLB for one simple reason. He understands the position and reads the Offense better at this point than Flowe. He is also much better in pass coverage. He should be an immediate upgrade over Roberts.

#10 Justin Flowe

The word most often used to describe Justin is "Beast". That would be accurate for the most part. Why isn't he the clear leader and starter? A ture leader has to read the O and direct the D. Flowe is so intense that he hasn't grasp the controls of the D. He tends to get lost in pass coverage and over pursues in the delay plays. I could see him being a wrecking ball at rush end, but he is learning and when he can play in control grasping the reigns, he will be an All-American MLB. He has three years and will be a major contributor this year. We just need to understand that while every single ability he has is as good as it gets, he has to develope the dicipline to play under control and within the game plan.

#18 Kamuela Ka'aihue

This kid showed up in the Spring ready to play and has impressed. Solid addition and could have started had he been here last year. Yes, he is that good.

#6 Taye Brown

This kid is better than his rankings as well. He also could have started in the middle on last years roster. I hope you are getting a icture of our depth at LB when I say that. He will be playing lots of special teams for sure and be a solid part of our D moving forward.

#40 Ammon Allen

Great young man that will thrive in our Special teams and there were even rumblings about him playing at LB, but with the new talent it will be difficult to see PTat Lb much.

#44 Jeremy Mercier

At the time he was added to our roster he was a solid gain and it is good he is here. Like many at the LB position, he willl likely make his living on STs.

#55 Leviticus Su'a

Do NOT give up on this kid as he has the tools to play at this level, but understand that he will have tolearn and know his role as he developes inthe system. I believe he will develope into a really good player for us in time.

#8 Sterling Lane

https://arizonawildcats.com/sports/football/roster/sterling-lane-ii/15099

Lane is not a bad player and is more of an Edge Rusher than a LB as far as that goes, but our depth is solid. Lane will see PT on the edge.
