I believe that the rest of the Big 12 programs know that Texas/Oklahoma "carried them".
I do not see a situation where those remaining programs are going to be highly sought after by any of the other Power 5 conferences.
The part that really has me scratching my head is who would be the premier program in the Big 12 after the move?
Texas Tech/TCU/Baylor/Oklahoma State/West Virginia/Iowa State/Kansas/Kansas State.
Nevermind, it would be between Iowa State & West Virginia in football, and remain Kansas in basketball.
I say they go ahead and finally add Houston to the Big 12, and maybe SMU and just run with that.

I personally think that Oklahoma State is the most valuable. They hold more national titles in all sports than any other Big-12 school and they're always competitive. Also, their fan base travels well. The Alamo Bowl was packed in orange when they blew us out.
Every school is competitive in football except KU. Similar to the PAC-12 (and unlike the SEC), they're typically "good" from top to bottom...although Kansas obviously has value in basketball.
Texas Tech makes the most sense geographically but Baylor and TCU are in better television markets. It'll be interesting to see if we snatch 2-4 programs.
