Arizona has offered 6'5 2020 3-Star SF Kerwin Walton. Walton is a shooter who shot 48% from the arc for a state champion last winter and hit 46% of his threes scoring 15 a game in Adidas competition last weekend. He was also a teammate of current wildcat Zeke Nnaji.

Walton highlights
This 2020 list is beginning to get massive.
Miller must be planning on bringing 5+ bodies in 2020!
Love his shooting ability we need that with all teams that zone us this class will be massive I am thinking Miller will need to bring in 6 or 7 players next year.

Really?
Exactly who do you think we will be losing from our 2019 roster?
1. Jeter
2. Smith
3. Hazzard
4. Gettings
5. Mannion
6. Green
I'd love to see Nico & Josh stay for a sophomore year, but both are prematurely projected as lottery picks.
If B-Will has to retire from basketball prior to the start of the 2020-21 season, that will leave 7 open slots.
The good news is that we'll still have a solid roster that includes:
1. B-Will (JR)
2. Doutrive (JR)
3. Ira (SR)
4. Koloko (SO)
5. Zeke (SO)
6. Brown (JR)
7. Baker (JR)
You also have to factor in Zeke dude could very easily be a first rounder and will likely end up being our best big by season's end. And depending on how severe the penalties are we could potentially be see some of the upperclassmen transferring out as well. Wonder if that means we start prioritizing more of these high tier 3 star/ low tier 4 star recruits who will stick around long enough to outlast the potential postseason bans.
Yea Kansas I was thinking those first 6 an the 7th player for me would be Zeke he would have to earn it though considering he is not projected lottery pick like nico an Josh but i have heard some people thinking Zeke might be the best player from the whole class an could be gone after one year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't SG have two years of eligibility left?

1 year left, he graduated in December and could have technically played this last semester if he wanted too but he wanted a full year.
Miller. Really like Waltons shooting ability that could be big for us even though he is a 3 star right now I bet he ends up a 4 star.
Walton on Arizona offer.
"I was really happy to get an offer from Arizona because of their history of turning their players into pros like Kansas," he said. "And seeing my teammate Zeke Nnaji go there made it cool to get a scholarship from them as well."

Very nice hope he takes a visit at some point.
Walton will visit during red blue game.

It's Arizona Vs UNC. Arizona leads for Walton.

Nice wild good to hear I really like waltons 3 point shooting arizona could use I am hoping Arizona can pull walton in along with one of puff or ziaire so that would give Arizona 2 of them to go along with terry that would probably complete there needs of wings I think kerwin an puff are good possibilties ziaire seems like that is up in the air he has not visited.
https://twitter.com/jakeweingarten/status/1187501467869110272
Glad to hear staff is watching walton arizona really needs this kid between him an puff they need both of them outside of those 2 don't know else Arizona will get an there is not alot of options out there I think if Arizona gets puff an Walton they would be set with g/f in 2020 they would need a big an a point guard what scares me a little is unc is on a hot streak in recruiting an they have both kerwin an puff for official visits.

Nice glad to hear coaches meeting with walton it's been a while since I heard them meeting with walton they really need to get him to commit I kinda am surprised that has not committed to a school I read stuff from last year that made me think he would commit about 2 to 3 months ago makes me wonder when he will decide on a school I hope its Arizona when he decides I also see schools still visiting him an some of them he never visited like Arkansa an nebraska.
Walton update

Nice wild an it says Arizona is one of the schools recruiting him the hardest it sounds like he could be getting closer to a decision . Arizona needs his shooting ability an hopefully they can get ziaire.
Why would he go to UNC. They already have 6 recruits right? How do guys like Roy Williams, Coach Cal get 5-6 recruits and promise them enough playing time when they already have other players on their roster leftover from last year!!!!!
Cmon Miller bring us home! Walton, Zhaire, Both Wichita St Transfers!
The way kerwin walton can shoot the 3 he would be huge for Arizona possible zone buster an a kid that can develop over time.

Also how does Roy get guys to stay 3 and 4 years when they are 1st round projections after 1 or 2 yrs?
Maybe it's the environment. Playing in a true power conference and constantly being in games with top 10 teams is a little more fun. The PAC has the worst media coverage and national spot light of all the power conferences. Thanks commissioner! Lastly, maybe Miller encourages players to go vs asking them to stay. Your guess is as good as mine.
Roy had his share of one and dones but he does a nice job of sprinkling in guys that need time. The 3-4 star kids play against stellar competition on a daily basis.
He also had his share of guys that didn't live up to their potential. If Nassir Little played similarly in Tucson, fans would rip Miller for his lack of production. Recruiting is a crapshoot.
The difference is n. Little would have had a bigger role would have started an played more minutes for Arizona.
It will be very interesting for these current HS seniors that have yet to take a recruiting visit to their schools of interest already.
With almost all schools going to online education for the time being, how can you show off a school when no one is there?
It is going to be like taking a visit to a vacant prison facility...
GoodThing walton an ziaire already visited.

I understand that recruiting momentum happens in waves, but when did Arizona become a 2nd tier program in the West?
Have we declined, or have the others (Oregon/USC/UCLA) risen, or is it a little of both?
Whatever the answer is, for Arizona to NOT be the premier program on the West AND not dominate in recruiting, it does not make me the happiest "fan" in the country right now.
It's being reported that Walton will announce in the next couple weeks. Creighton is Arizona's biggest competition
Miller better hope Ben signs and actually shows up. I've watched some of his games and he is the best recruit so far. JMO
We really need him I hope Arizona gets him he is a high volume 3 point shooter I hope they don't still him.
I think Miller is trying to change his recruiting approach back to when we had the most success. In his early years at AZ and while he was at Xavier. Lots of length, grit and players that will be committed to the program For at least a couple years... At least, this is my hope
I hope so. High energy guys with talent like Solo, Parrom and NJ would provide 3-4 year players that defend well and flourish because they adopt the system.

Is he though? Or is this just Miller struggling to recruit with all the heat over Arizona's head. Personally I'm fine with the class we are looking at 3 (assuming Kerwin commits) multiyear players along with Akinjo and Brown who both have multiple years left as well. And personally instead of grad transfers I'd fill the roster with traditional transfers and hidden gems from the H.S market if I were Miller. Big problem is our coaching staff is sub-par at best and player development of late has been putrid. Only assistant I'd keep is Danny he's a good recruiter and has gotten us back in the Midwest circuit.
Walton is now rated as a 4-Star. He was a 3 Star when we first started recruiting him. I know i'm a little late in updating this, but i've changed the title to reflect his current rating.
Just my opinion mvpreed2 but I really think Arizona has lost ground in recruiting since FBI investigation an ncaa investigation did not seem to impact 2019 class as much but 2020 yes Arizona seems to have lost ground there an until ncaa sends there sanctions it will effect Arizona with that being it would be huge if Arizona could land both walton an ziaire.

Take this FWIW but I was at my other family's website and they were excited that Josh Christopher eliminated Kentucky from his top 5 schools and added them.
Another 5* prospect (Williams) replied to the tweet to speculate that the two might try to play together at the next level.
The only two schools that are both of their lists are USC and UCLA.
Based on speculations here, Williams to USC seems to have some legs, and I would not be surprised if Williams tried to play the "If you come to (insert school) with me we would kill" line to Josh.
Again, this is all speculation so there is no need for us to get our panties in a bunch.
I am just relaying the message that I saw and trying to put the pieces together.
Ziaire going to usc would not surprise me at all UCLA because it it's in his home state also would not surprise me .its intersting rivals seems to like ziaire to usc both eric bossi an corey Evan's. Evan Daniel's is saying Arizona an Stanford for ziaire so who is right remains to seen I think it will be a huge dissapointment if Arizona does not land ziaire or walton.
An also thanks for the info mvpreed2.
It is interesting that josh Christopher added usc to his final 5 when they were not on it.

Walton moves date to the 25th which means unc most likely we will crystal ball picks soon in UNC favor unless he is really struggling for a decision on which school I personally think he has had months to figure this out in my opinion Arizona has more playing time to offer than unc an also unc has puff Johnson for outside shooting.
Wild have you heard anything on kerwin.
https://twitter.com/DWolfsonKSTP/status/1253076668773695497
Sounding like UNC.... I'd say we have a slim, slim chance. Dumb and Dumber slim
I am going to be pissed if it is unc they stole puff Johnson when he was suppose to come here an an now kerwin if so not to mention it sound like Arizona was leading all this time so why the change if he goes to Minnesota I understand it some especially with covid out there though Minnesota wont get him the exposure that Arizona unc an Creighton can all tournament teams Arizona an unc sends guys to the league Arizona can offer him playing time more than unc can.
https://twitter.com/playersprogramu/status/1254286962489356289
I was trying to look into unc fans opinions an Minnesota fans an they are pretty much seem to think it is between them for him an they said Minnesota has grad that is deciding tomorrow he may be waiting to see who he commits to I really don't see anybody who thinks its Arizona some unc fans saying kerwin an dad are going back and forth for a decision.
Also my guess is kerwin wants unc dad wants Minnesota that's my guess from what I read an there was some people that said family are also encouraging him to stay home an someone said his decision is made up.
I really don't understand the hype. Just get a commitment from that 6-8 shooter from Turkey he would probably be ecstatic to be an Arizona Wildcat.
The number 99 player in the country used to not even be a blip on the Arizona radar.
Guys like Luke Garza (Iowa), Alpha Diallo (Providence), Eli Stewart (USC) , Payton Dadtrup (BYU) and plenty of other recent recruits rated in the upper 90's have greatly impacted their respective programs.
Rankings mean nothing. The talented kids without hype generally end up succeeding as 4 year players, which is 100x more valuable than a one and done.
It is time to forget about Walton imo. He doesn't care about U of A so why care about him. He is dragging everyone around and probably having fun doing it! I am done with him!

^^^^^^^^
Walton is down to UNC and Minnesota
Frustrating that's where are right now missed out on both ziaire an kerwn NCAA needs to hurry with there investigation an end it already it is
I would love to be a fly on the wall to see/hear how we went from being one of the ones at the end of the long table, to know not even having a seat at the table?
I always thought it was going to be Arizona/UNC.
Even with the pandemic, I even understood if Minnesota found a way to slide into the mix.
I never thought that the decision would come down and we not even be at the table...
I agree mvpreed2 same hear I thought it was unc an Arizona till the end from what I have read it could be family that pulling him to stay I read I don't know if true but I read mom may want Minnesota dad may want unc it sounds like unc is kerwins favorite so it probably would not matter .
Goodbye
Walton finally committed to UNC.
I was over this guy a while ago. Not sure how any fanbase can be super excited to add a kid who clearly changed his mind like 15 times in the last 24 hours before committing... Seems like a future transfer to me lol
We will get him in two years. After he transfers.
