The junior walk-on has two years of eligibility remaining and can play for Cal Poly immediately.
"Paulo has great range on his jumper and we like his size and strength for a wing," Cal Poly head coach Joe Callero said in a statement. "He could compete for playing time at the two or three spot his first year with us. We love the depth and experience he'll bring to our team."

Cruz played 21 minutes in eight games as a sophomore this past season, including a nine-minute stint against Sacred Heart on Nov. 18 in which he grabbed a career-high two rebounds.
The San Diego native appeared in six games as a freshman in 2015-16.
Arizona's roster now sits at 16 players, with Kory Jones, Jake DesJardins, and Tyler Trillo as the team's remaining walk-ons.

Congrats to P.Cruz on getting a scholarship.
The kid must have some game, I believe the story was he got invited to tryout based on how he played in the gym on day?
You don't just get an invite at a school like Arizona unless you can go.
I hope he is able to take his career to another level at Cal Poly.
I'll be following him. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat!

That notion does not hold true for everyone.
There have been some that have come (and gone) with little (sometimes none at all) love from the Arizona faithful after their departure.
I am speaking for the entire community that was online around the time.
Good for this kid to lock up a scholarship
Good for Paulo. Congrats to this kid. Always a Wildcat.
