Arizona has NO scholarships & just offered 2019 grad transfer PG Tay Weaver. 🤔 Will know more soon.
Weaver is a 5'10 PG who averaged 10pts a game and shoot 35% from 3 point land. He would be a good back up in an area of need for this upcoming season. He will post likely accept our offer and be added to the team shortly.

Another Justin Coleman?
Leading our #2s off of the bench?
Yes please!
There isn't a leader coming off the bench.
AB is gone, DS isn't a leader, IL is an energy guy, SG doesn't appear to be the "leader" type.
MH would be my best guess but I would guess and say they believe this kid is better or else Hazzard would have that role, right?

Yeah your right that was a little too hard on JCole. Coleman out of Samford was a 13 and 6 guy for the Bulldogs he was a legitimate playmaker for them and really in any other year would have been a perfect backup point guard for us. And I honestly don't think this guy is any better than Hazzard their stats are similar but Max's efficiency is much better and has been credited as a tough defender, while playing on a tournament team and being a major part of UC Irvine's upset win over KState. I get we need another ball handler especially with all this uncertainty surrounding Williams and options are limited at this point, but another undersized combo-guard who's averaging just over 2 assists a game and shooting an abysmal 36% which would have been second worst on last years team. I'm assuming we are getting this guy to warm the bench and be our security blanket if worst comes to worst and Nico or Hazzard miss considerable time for whatever reason which in that case we are in trouble and would have rathered just kept Barcello.
I guess what I'm trying to say is I hope Williams is healthy and good to go.
I am thinking they are bringing him in because willams will not be with team an they will be a guard down I was hoping to land puff Johnson instead but there is still a chance he stays in 2020 class .
even if bwill is out for the year he is still taking up a roster spot, so who's leaving and why do we want another pg? much rather go after puff, any chance he's a walk-on, 10 points on 35% shooting at eastern kentucky, that seems plausable.
I really just want b.will to stay an play this year but it does not seem like it will happen based on Miller bringing in another point guard. Its probably b.will who leaves or Smith maybe both who knows.
Not sure how this works exactly. Is it possible to put one of the players on an academic scholarship, especially one who might be red shirting?
