Introducing the 2017 Arizona Football Offensive Recruiting class

Nathan Tilford
A 6-foot-1 205 lb running of Ontario, California Nathan Tilford has the abilities to be the next great Arizona RB. During his senior year, he carried the ball a whopping 223 times for over 2000 yards, averaging just over 9 yards per carry.

Tilford also reached the end zone a total of 38 times, once you include his eight receiving TD's. When watching Nathan Tilford, it is very easy to see why he is the number 17 ranked RB. He is an explosive back capable of seeing the entire field with ease.

He can cut left and right with no hesitation in his footwork. He should come in and immediately start, the top 2 rushers last season were a QB and a WR, not something you want out of your backfield.

In many years that would be true of his ability to come in and start right away. Remember that blocking schemes from the backfield are critical and really hurt us last year as we had players playing that were not ready for that aspect of the game. That added to our lack of protection for everyone touching the ball. It was difficukt enough to run the basic plays at times so there were not many trick plays in the book. Add in that Wilson is currently healthy as a senior and JJ Taylor is stronger and fully healthy. No, Nathan won't start unless bad things happen, but it is nice to know he could!

Brian Casteel, Drew Dixon and both Bryce's have potential to contribute if needed, but like with the RBs, we have players in front of them. I think they all get in the game but hopefully it is mop up time with a big win coming our way.
