This isn't ONE of my favorite memories--it's THE MOST favorite and it's not even close. That win was euphoric. Only the birth of our first child / son exceeded the utter enjoyment of this thrashing handed to the hated Hurricanes, and of course, our 97 National Championship. At the time, I didn't call into the radio shows, but I did that day. Listeners were talking about the future and all the great things to come--I took a different approach. I suggested we all savor this day and the greatest win in program history because there may never be a bigger moment. In hindsight I was right. That day and that win has yet to be exceeded. The Nebraska win was big but, in my opinion, fell well short of the 19-0 shaming of Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp's Canes. Arizona Football and it's fans owes the late Coach Tomey a huge debt of gratitude for putting Wildcat Football on the map. I for one would like to see his name displayed on the field. He holds a very special place in my heart as he should all true Wildcat Football fans.
I was there! Such an amazing game. My younger sister kept complaining that she felt bad for Miami because we were beating them so badly and the UA fans were going nuts the whole game.
