R.J. Barrett 6'7 5 Star SG & No. 1 player of 2019

His top schools are: Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky.

Arizona has a slight advantage with his buddy & fellow Canadian Emmanuel Akot already committed to Arizona. Akot has said he's trying to help recruit him to UofA.

R.J. Barrett helped Canada beat the United States in the semifinals of the FIBA U19 World Cup on Saturday 7/8/17 in Cairo, Egypt and will play for the gold medal against Italy on Sunday.

The 6-foot-6 Barrett went off for 38 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists before fouling out with 2:55 remaining in Canada's 99-87 win over coach John Calipari and the USA.

Update: R.J. is looking into reclassifying from 2019 to 2018 just like Arizona's Akot did this year. We'll keep you posted on the latest on him and all UofA recruit.

He picked the best of the best to have on his list.
I wonder if he too will reclassify and join the 2018 class instead.
He would be a nice piece to what appears to be a heavy class for us with so many bodies expected to leave.

Added highlights. He just helped Canada win the World Cup and UofA is in the lead for him.

I'm hearing he's also trying to reclassify too just like fellow Canadian Akot from 2019 to 2018.

I figured that would be the case, since it wasn't set in stone YET, I just threw it out there as a conversation piece.

Wait a minute, nobody told me this kid was a lefty!
Aww ****!
Hey someone get me Miller's number, I need to make sure Miller gets this kid; lefties are LETHAL!

I have a personal "thing" with left-handed basketball players.
It's something about them that just appeals to me, they are like finding a three-leafed clover, very rare.
Rumor is that he and E.Akot are good friends, MAYBE that will be good for us, but at this point, I believe that Miller is raising the bar in recruiting (which I did not think is possible) and I know that it is going to pay off for us in the long run!

I agree about Miller. We're lucky to have him as our coach!
