Very nice I see he was a scorer for them waiting to hear who transfers from Arizona expecting Randolph to leave I hope he stays an fights for position but think he will leave with green coming in i think alot people see green starting.
I do think if Randolph put the work in he could keep that starting spot he has to improve defense shooting passing rebounding I did like towards end of year he was taking charges on defense.
Idk man. To me it seemed like he gave up towards the end of the season. I don't even remember him playing in the second half of our last game. I hope he sticks it out and fights for a spot because it would make our team and him better but idk of that will happen.
I'm not a fan of all these vagabond transfers, here today gone tomorrow. How invested in the program are they? I would prefer 4-5 yr h.s. recruit that wants to spend his career at ARIZONA, I suppose that type of thinking is antiquated.

Completely agree. I understand why we bring in the occasional kid for depth purposes (Lyons, Anderson, Coleman, etc.)...but this specific situation makes no sense.
We are deep at the wing position & I want guys like Josh Green to get as many minutes as possible.

I can't see how Randolph could possibly start next year. I was as high on Randolph as I could be. He was incredibly disappointing and was flat out awful in the 2nd half of the season. Does not focus and try on defense & has very limited offense. He is physically weak and beside a right handed layup has no finishing moves. Gets pushed off his spot and shoots a ton of ugly shots. IMO he can be a good catch and shoot guy but does not use the offense or run off screens. If he gets the ball he dribbles out of control and jacks up off balance shots. His shooting percentages dropped none stop this season and his scoring numbers were horrendous. I don't mean to just bash on him but it is concerning he did not seem to care or take pride. He just did the same thing over and over. His play was cringe worthy.
Next year Nico & Williams are the starting guards. Josh Green will absolutely start. Green is a perfect fit for Miller's style and is already way better than Randolph. Green is a legit 1&D and plays very hard, takes pride on D, & for being a super athlete plays very under control and has a high bball IQ. I can't imagine Randolph will return. He honestly may not be apart of the rotation if he returns and doesn't show HUGE improvement. Probably best for both parties to move on.
Looks like I need to start a 2019 Grad-transfer thread.
To jump in though, the grad-transfer route is used (IMO) to fill roles/gaps that the coach thinks the team may have.
Imagine this team without Luther, who was our best shooter.
Imagine this team without Coleman, who was a true PG that was a pass-first G?
Who would have been our shooter, Randolph? Williams? Barcello?
Who would have been our shot-creator, Williams?
The need for these guys are understandable, as long as you get the right ones.
I'd be looking for more 6'6-6'9 combo forwards that could play SF, like Tollefsen or the kid from William & Mary.
Is this a legitimate pursuit? Doesn't make much sense, to me at least, unless we have some serious defections coming and Williams won't be ready to go. Not sure why a grad transfer putting up 20 would want to come here to sit behind an OND in his final year either.
