Did you know Dylan Smith was UNC-Asheville's leading scorer as a freshman in the 2015-16 season, averaging 13.5 points per game?

He also has some NCAA Tournament experience, as he scored 14 points in UNC Asheville's first-round loss to Villanova, which of course went on to win the national championship.

Last year Smith was exposed to the Arizona fanbase at the Red & Blue game and he spent the rest of the year in the background, obscure to the public, redshirting the season per NCAA transfer rules.

"A year from now," UA coach Sean Miller said after the game, "you're going to see somebody who's a really good player for us."

UA guard Allonzo Trier added: "He's really talented, and he's going to be a very good player when his time comes. I'm with him every day. He's one of the guys who works hard; he's a hard worker. He's a guy that will be successful here."

Smith committed to play at UNC-Asheville in May 2015. He committed to play for the Wildcats in May 2016. Two years ago.

For me, D.Smith is not overlooked.
Most of the transfers that Miller brings in plays a big role for us (Lyons/McConnell) and I am not including Peters because he medically retired.
The problem I have is trying to figure out his position to be able to pencil him in.
He could play 1-3 for us which makes him very valuable, but I'm sure Miller isn't telling him to be ready to play all three spots right now.
Or is he?
