Cherry Update

When the Arizona Wildcats added Romar to the coaching staff the Wildcats took the lead on landing Taeshon Cherry. It seems as if things have recently changed.

He's now changed his mind and as of today he's set to pick USC. USC Coaches Andy Enfield and Tony Bland made him their top priority & have all of the USC coaching staff visit Cherry everytime which has made a huge impression on him.

Cherry's family also wants him to stay closer to home. He's only going to be a couple of hours away from San Diego and that was another big reason he changed his mind about going to Arizona.

247 sports still shows Arizona & FSU at 50% each for chances to land Cherry, but FSU is no longer on his final list of 6 teams.

Miller just recently offered Nassir Little a 6'7 SF who plays in the same position as Cherry.  These young kids change their minds daily, so anything can happen between now and Friday June 30th when Cherry makes his announcement. If things change we'll keep you posted, so keep checking back.

Update - Oregon is now in the mix as far as the Cherry picking goes (No pun intended)

It seems current Oregon commit Miles Norris is doing his best to convince Cherry to pick the Ducks.

They've known each other since they were 5 years old. Taeshon recently said "He's just been telling me about why he picked Oregon and how we could play together. It interests me."

Cherry will definitely be picking either USC, Oregon, or Arizona. The other 3 teams are out. Stay tuned for more updates between now and June 30th when he makes his announcement.

I feel like Cherry is a very similar player to Ira Lee.  Physically not very long, kind of a tweener, great leaper, athletic.  Maybe a more refined player at this point in time but still very similar.  Is that accurate you think?

I thought Cherry had more of a wing style game and Lee plays more on the inside.

I'm being told that Cherry is in fact going to be picking USC on Friday for the reason's I stated above.  Just letting all the Wildcat Fans know since were going to be his choice until he decided he didn't want to leave California.

So unless Cherry told someone to leak that he is going to USC to throw everyone off (would be genius) then it is pretty much known that he is going to pick the Trojans.
