Just want to touch on this a bit because there has been an article or two and some talk about how outside of Gunnell that KS recruiting has been well, underwhelming. Well RR's recruiting got the same tag. Dick Tomey the same. Let's talk Mime Stoops. Yep he signed some stars that never went anywhere two. But all of those coaches had their greatest success with unwanted Teddi, little know Cason, 2 star Scooby, and a whole list of great players that have been some of our very best in the history of the program. Coaches have to have players that fit the program. KS has onky a few commits and some people are already saying we can't recruit at Arizona. I just would like to see everyone give KS a little room to work before making judgement calls like that. I personally loved the last two classes RR briught in and those two combined could end up being two of the best back to back classes we have had at Arizona. KS wi have limited numbers for his first class so don't expect a top ten class based purely on the limited scholies that will be available. Gjnnel may be a game changer, but he will have to do some spectacular things while here to top Teddi, Rob, Kadeem, or 2 star Scooby. Yet when we take the field this fall we will have some of the best young talent in the PAC, and maybe the nation in out Soph class. Already growing into stars are our LBs and a QB that nobody else wanted for a QB. Hard to believe that Schooler could end up topping Scooby's accomplishments before he is done here and you have to think about his side kicks Fields and Wilborn. Wow what a tandem. Tate gets all the preseason hype out side of Arizona, but JJ will have a lot to say on the field this year. Tate is the only 4 star of those listed.
I am so hyped for the start of this upcoming season. It may a few games for the OL to gel, but when it does watchout.

Agreed, have seen the same rhetoric, from the same people repeated the last couple of years. It's like some of the Bruin nation fans are posing as Wildcat fans and all they do is trash Miller, Sumlin and any other topic about Arizona. Commented a couple of times and got beat down, reminded me of PGU.com so I no longer visit or support that site. Anyone questioning Sumlins recruiting right now is beyond ignorant, give the man some time. I always look at coach's in 3 year stretches, that's how I knew Richrod was in trouble, his recruiting was terrible.

Recruiting during this class is not vital to the future of this program.
Sumlin needs to land 2-3 more 4* kids to ensure that he will dominate the recruiting trail in the future...but our roster is already returning a LOT of young players.
The most important thing that Sumlin can do is show improvement/development of our existing roster.
Gunnell's commitment was huge because other recruits will likely follow his lead to Tucson...yet I wouldn't consider this class a disappointment (unless we only land a couple 3* kids prior to signing day).
