My favorite one is #7. Did you know that Iggy is a horologist?

10. Last name debate

In the past announcers in the NBA have struggled with the pronunciation of Andre's last name. Apparently, even his parents can't agree on how to say it.

"My mom says one way, and my dad says the other way," said Iguodala. "And they don't realize that they do that. It's pretty strange. My dad says 'Ig-wa-dalla' and my mom says 'Ig-a-dalla.' But it's easier to say Ig-a-dalla."

9. Honor roll

While playing at Lanphier High School in Springfield, Illinois, Andre Iguodala not only excelled on the court but he also earned All-Conference academic honors as well as a spot on the National Honor Roll.

8. Lack of recognition

Despite a number of stellar seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers it wasn't until 2012 that Iguodala was finally selected to the All-Star game. For a four year stretch from 2006-10 Iggy was averaging over 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game with excellent defense but still didn't receive the honor.

7. He's A Watch Enthusiast

One of Andre's biggest hobbies is collecting watches, making him a horologist. If you watch him closely in interviews and activities away from basketball you'll notice that he's always sporting some sort of nice watch.

6. Team Nigeria recruit

Andre Iguodala's father is originally from Nigeria, making it possible for Iggy to play for their national team. Despite a number of attempts to get Andre to join Team Nigeria, he always turned them down, stating that he always dreamed to play for Team U.S.A. and that it didn't feel right representing a country he'd never even been to.

5. Role model

In 2006 the Sporting News honored Iguodala after he started the Andre Iguodala Disaster Relief Fund for tornado victims in his native Springfield, Illinois.

4. The other AI

Before Andre Iguodala earned the nickname Iggy he was known as the other AI alongside star guard Allen Iverson. Iguodala grew up idolizing Iverson and apparently cried when Allen was traded to the Nuggets.

3. NBA 2K champion

Iguodala is an avid fan of the NBA 2K video games and showed off his prowess at the NBA 2K10 launch party that featured a tournament including fellow NBA players Nate Robinson and Rajon Rondo. Andre ended up winning the whole thing, beating the artist Wale in the championship round.

2. Doesn't like his nickname

After years of hearing his own fans heckle him with the Iggy nickname in Philadelphia, Andre despises being called it. Most people in the media know to never call him Iggy to his face but rather use it in articles to shorten his name.

1. Man of faith

Iguodala is a devout Christian who credits his faith for his success with basketball and in life. According to Andre, "We want to be a good representation of what we believe in ...When you go out there, you're not just representing your country or the NBA, you're representing your beliefs."
