Sean Miller to watch 2020 PG Nico Mannion tonight. Nico already has an offer from Arizona and was at the Red Blue game this year.

seems he is leaning to the ucla now according to the 247

One thing I don't think I would be able to handle would be losing recruits to UCLA that we CLEARLY wanted.
It was one thing when Hands went to UCLA, but it didn't appear on the surface that we wanted him bad enough.
It seems like Miller has gone all-in on Mannion in 2020, and for him to choose UCLA, would be a repeat of Winslow and Rabb shunning us for other programs.
I did not like that feeling..

Nico is looking to reclassify to 2019
My, my but that was quick!!

Oh WOW!
Now THAT is the type of news that would definitely jump-start our recruiting efforts, assuming he did that AND signed with Arizona.
First things first, we finish out this 2018 recruiting class.
Quick thought, we won't have any seniors on our roster next season so is Miller going to push someone to transfer or enter the draft?
Never mind, we have Luther so that would be one, but we all know how much turnover is at someone schools.
We could easily see a body or two transfer out of the program.
Sean Miller is watching Nico again today like a Hawk! Good to see that he's been relentless with his recruiting efforts on top future prospects like Nico and Josh Green.

Is there a deadline for when he would have to submit paperwork to reclassify?
As a selfish Arizona fan, I ask so we know if (then when) he does, we can reshuffle our prospect board.
Honestly, I'm not 100% sure I want him to.
If we land Williams, pair him with Barcello, that's two PGs we would have for AT LEAST a season (2018-19).
Assuming Barcello doesn't transfer out, and Williams doesn't leave/transfer, that's two PGs until the 2020-21 season.
Mannion coming in 2020 would be ideal if everything stays chalk, Barcello would be on his way out while we groom Mannion.
Mannion is going to take college classes this summer, so he's almost guaranteed to reclassify. Check out his quotes on UofA below.
Arizona is also heavy in the mix and Mannion has a close relationship with head coach Sean Miller and Mark Phelps.
"I'm up there pretty often during the season when they have games," Mannion said. "I go up and watch games. They've been great. The way they recruit it's good. It's good facilities. I'm close with coach Sean and Coach Phelps."
Arizona has obviously been through a lot with the firing of former assistant Book Richardson in the wake of the FBI investigation into college basketball and then the subsequent DeAndre Ayton/Miller report from ESPN this spring.
Asked if those issues impacted the perception of recruits, Mannion said, "I would say at first it did but everything that's going on now, they said they're fine now. I trust them 100 percent, Sean and Phelps, so I'm not worried."

Nice little day in the life video. Big fan of this kid and hope he stays in State.
Nico Mannion has picked up a few more expert crystal ball predictions to Arizona on 247sports.com (Most notable by Meyer, Gershon & Daniels) It looks like Brandon Williams committing to the Wildcats is really opening the doors for future recruits to commit Arizona. BEARDOWN!

I want Nico soooo Bad (Not in a creepy way or anything). When you watch his highlights you can tell he's going to be special. I got a similar feeling watching Brandon Williams & the thought of them playing together is just insane!
Stay away coach K!!!

Not many that get away from him.
If he wants Mannion, he is going to have him.
Kentucky is the only school to really beat out Duke for recruits that they REALLY want..
